Nfc card. How to remove protection

Hello guys, Im new here, and, id like to ask: how to format this nfc card?

This card is from hotel, i can read only to 37

The card says “MF 1k” on it, so it’s probably a Mifare Classic 1k card. Have you tried using Mifare Classic Tool?

Also, what are you planning to do with it? Why do you want to format it?

Wanna use it as id card. Gonna try this app that you said

What function to use? Im now trying to read sectors with extended keys file

Would be useful to have some more info on what you want to use it with. Are you using it with an access system?

Reading is done. Results is here: https://pastebin.com/raw/umZMCXpT

Gonna write data about me in it

Got the keys
000000000000
E7316853E731
FFFFFFFFFFFF
A0A1A2A3A4A5

Ah, I see. Looking at the dump I see there’s some data there already.

In MCT, go to “Write tag” → Factory Format, see if you can reset all the keys to default. This is to make it so NFC TagWriter can write to it.

Then try using NFC TagWriter, go to Erase tags → Erase & format as NDEF → Select no when asked if you want to specify user defined size.

Done. In MCT says, that “Sector 2 block 3, Key with write access (B) not known”. Here is screenshot

After formatting with MCT and NFC TagWriter, i can now read to 3B, still not fully read

Which key dictionaries did you try use when reading? Seems like you’re missing the key to write to block 3. Try using extended-std.keys if you haven’t already. Otherwise you’ll need a non-Android NFC reader to crack the keys. For example a Flipper Zero or a PC with a USB SCL3711 reader, or a Proxmark.

I’ve used extended-std.keys to read, and then saved keys that worked in a file, and i got
000000000000
E7316853E731…
Try to format it with extended?

Try that! If it doesn’t work you’ll sadly need to use some other tool to find the key.

Done. This, is what it shows:

I’ve tried to write after both formatting, and it worked! I cant format it from nfc tools, because it cant read last 4 blocks, from 3C to 3F

Well, sadly this means you’re still missing a key. In theory I think it should be possible to set up the formatting in a way where it skips the sector, but I don’t think there are any Android apps that allow you to do that easily. Your best bet is probably to either buy a cheap libNFC supported reader, or find a tag that doesn’t have keys set from before.

I just went to increase your your level, but it looks like you already have, you shouldn’t havecany limitation on your posts, trybagain, and DM me if there is an issue.

Are you wanting to still be able to use it at the hotel also?

MF1k are great cards, but not the best to use for NDEF.

What size is the data you want to store?
There maybe better options at a very cheap price.
An NTAG card is a cheap and simple choice, but if you need more storage, you could look at DESFie catds

Also do you require it to be offline?

You could look at justvproviding a link.

Something like this

Do someone have some key? If someone experimented with cards like this
