How’s your healing process going?
My skin still has adhesvie burns(?) and the scab thing from the needle is still there but otherwise quite good.
I can get consistent phone reads/writes but I can barely get the Proxmark to read and can’t get a write at all.
Thanks @Not!
Adhesive burns… You may have an allergy to some adhesives. Not super uncommon, try some Hydrocortisone cream if it’s an issue from your perspective. Shouldn’t be anything to worry about.
Good to hear it is fine otherwise! It’s been almost a month so the scab itself should be on its way out soon. You’ll have the bumps for a while though.
You’re having issues with proxmark reads… I’m going to assume you’re using a PM3-Easy from DT… Remember the bottom board houses the HF antenna, so it might be worth trying the bottom of that. As for the LF side, I assume you know the correct orientation for mating your antennas and the PM3’s? (Perpendicular)
A good way to learn the exact positioning, at least for me: If you can clone an HID to your T5577, then use “lf hid watch” (or something equivalent), it will put the PM3 in basically reader mode and tell you every time it sees the implant. Move your hand in different positions, find what works.
X-Series will never have stellar read performance with normal antennas, so you do have to get pretty crafty with your positions. If it’s still a pain after your healing is done, you can always pick up some repeaters from Hamspiced.
I hope this helps? Don’t be afraid to ask for help if it isn’t working ![]()
Thanks for your advice!
It turns out I do have an allergy to the fancy plastic like bandages (figured that out day 4) and have since stopped using them, but the marks still remain. I have been using Polysporin and Hydrocortisone.
I have been using the bottom of the PM3 but have had no luck with HF. Even going perpendicular for the 125khz I can only get it to barely identify a T5577 chip is present before it stops reading.
Ill try it some more this weekend!
That’s great, the treatment!
I’m sure a mix of practice and healing time will solve your issues. You got this.
Tell me how it goes, and good luck!
Anything fun you’ve done with them yet?
So far show off the NFC reading at work by becoming a walking advertisement
.
Im excited for the events next year where I can use them at Hotels.
My supervisor was pretty upset with me when they heard from our boss that I could get into work without a key. Our boss was considering getting an implant themself, and I’m the person who is in control of our access control back-end, so there was nothing they could really do lol. Even HR thought it was cool.
I inadvertently also became a DT advertisement after that haha.
Yeah, my boss unfortunately chose smart locks that only work with Apple’s Home Key system so im out of luck ![]()
Shameless Plug. I designed the Proxmark Midboard and Backplane board just for these scenarios. If you wanna reach out id be happy to send one your way.
Id be happy to try them out! Shoot me a DM
i do have the PM3 Easy tho so anything for the RDV4 wont work ![]()
You’re in luck, I dont have an RDV4.01 so these are made just for (select) Easy’s
How do you tell which Easys are compatible?
the Short: If it came from DT you’re good.
The long…
If The HF antenna is actually on the midboard, it wont work, if the midboard is populated, it wont work. If the Text that says power is above the right screw hole, it wont work.
Ahh Gotcha, the first 3 are true! Im unsure of the last bit tho, I will check!
That is very unfortunate. If only you could install your own locks in your home (my next project once the empty wallet season is over) ![]()
Honestly, Im thinking of upgrading my Zigbee (or is it Z-wave? I cant remember my own lock) smart lock to one with NFC.
I may even try using the Unifi Access starter kit just to experiment with it so I have experience for work. But only if the budget complies ![]()
I’m probably going to purchase some standalone units listed in the Compatibility Matrix. Unfortunately I will be (moving to) an apartment soon, but the 2nd bedroom will be used to house my desk and firearms. I want that room to have a lock, but not be a pain to enter. Hence the 2nd implant. More options (Mifare), and a 2nd T5577 if I decide to use something with LF.
Goodluck with your adventures!
You as well!
