Pain at the R0 after a year

I figured I’d post this in support as it’s x series related. But if it should be posted elsewhere I’ll move it. But lately I’ve been having some pain under my NeXt. In R0. I had it put in aug 3 2025. I haven’t had any issues. It seems it’s still in the same spot. But lately I’ve been having some pain under it when I flexi my hand a certain way. It has to be a very specific muscle set being used for me to trigger it. But it’s almost like a joint pain. It happens when I pinch something but not directly. But more between the thumb and side of my index vs the tip. Like grabbing a soda bottle cap to twist it off may trigger it. Or pushing things with the side of my hand. Has anyone experienced anything similar. I’m hoping it’s something unrelated to the implant. My other hand has Xsiid in L0 but no issues there. It’s a few months newer. It wouldn’t be super late rejection would it?

I doubt it’s rejection, though some photos of the area would be helpful. If it’s not red, hot, puffy, or painful to touch (palpate with your finger) then it’s not likely infection or rejection.

It could be nerves in the process of repairing. After this amount of time, nerves will be reconnecting and rebuilding around the implant and area damaged from the injection process. You might get odd sensations over the next few years to be honest, but nothing should be permanent or all that painful.

Nothing out of the ordinary as far as color or inflammation. No pain or tenderness while poking at it.

Here is a few photos. The left hand all around the implant is soft, even when I flex. The right hand is the same at rest. But when I flex the implant seems to get lifted on a mound of muscle (I’m assuming) because I’m right handed?

Top: right hand at rest.

Mid: pinching with right hand

Bottom: pinching with left

Yep this is not normal.

The title mentioned 1 year but either it’s 6 months or 18 months if you meant 2024? If it’s only been 6 months then I would expect more nerve healing activity and this temporary sensation of mild pain in certain positions would be normal. After 18 months less normal but not unheard of. The only other concern might be a broken capsule which would require an x-ray and that still might not confirm it.

Hmmm. Well I can get an X-ray just to be sure. I haven’t impacted it or anything that I can remember. And since the healing was done it’s always had this mound under it. I never really studied my hands before the implants so I can’t speak to its presence before the install. But I hope I don’t have to reinstall. The scarring on this hand was almost invisible. But it’ll be a good reason to replace it with a next v2 I guess. It’s not a constant pain. Only when used a certain way. If it were you Amal, how would you go about it? Let it ride till it becomes a problem?

I’d leave it alone and see if it gets worse over the coming weeks. It should settle down unless it’s actually broken, which is unlikely.
