I had this working for a bit at some point I had to unplug it and plug it back in because it wasn’t recognizing it but I got everything installed correctly and then I was able to recognize a low frequency and a high frequency chip… then all of a sudden started getting this error with the same command. Tried restarting it and plugging it back in and unplugging it.
I am not very good at stuff like this…please help
You need to connect to the proxmark using the following command:
./client/proxmark3.exe com3
The com port may vary.
I think mine is com8

Ahhh just learned my hf door is mifare classic 1k and not compatible with my neXt 
In theory you can just run the pm3 client without a com port and it will automatically find your proxmark3
a direct fix for this
run the runme.exe to enter proxspace
cd proxmark3
./pm3```
