Proxmark 3 Easy Field Enhancers

INTRODUCTION

The Proxmark 3 Field Enhancers are just the edge your Proxmark 3 Easy needs!

We love our PM3 Easy’s but we wish it had that extra “Umpf” just a bit more “Pizazz!”

Our field enhancers pair our FR4 Repeaters with two easy to install options for the Proxmark 3 Easy. Both of our Field Enahancers have two different silkscreening options to choose from. One specific to Biohackers sporting subdermal implants.

TESTING INCLUDING READ RANGES

The method I used was running
hf 14a reader -@
until I got a consistent read with a UID output

Obviously (if you know) the HF antenna is on the base board, and “normally” you would read HF implants from the underside however, for this testing for the Mid-board, I read from the top face where the designed Field Enhancers is …enhancing, this is where you would read your implants, the base board will still work, but you won’t see any…enhancement

For the Back Plane Field Enhancers, I tested from the bottom

The juicy bit and why you are reading this review…

PROXMARK3 Easy WITHOUT ENHANCER WITH ENHANCER
ISO Card (In Vitro) ~ 39 mm ~ 33 mm
Flex (In Vivo) ~ 8 mm ~ 18 mm
xSeries ( In Vivo ) ~ 1mm ~ 8 mm

Both the mid-board and back board perform very similarly, But if I was pressed to pick one, I would suggest the mid-board

You will note a reduction in read range for a ISO card, however, the range is still more than enough AND the purpose of the Field Enhancers, are to assist with your HF implants, and that is exactly what these do…

TEARDOWN ASSEMBLY

How to ( Instructions as per the webstore page)

Back Plane Field Enhancers

Imagine these like adding a bit more junk in the PM3 Easy’s Trunk. You add these to the bottom of the PM3 Easy with the 4 included Screw posts and it just works! See increased range and readibility in minutes of time!

Midboard Field Enhancers

These Replace your entire mid-board of the PM3 Easy. Installation is slightly more involved.

  1. Remove the LF antenna on top with 4 screws.
  2. Remove the 4 Posts that the LF antenna rested on
  3. Remove the remaining 2 lower screws of the midboard.
  4. Fling your old useless midboard across the room for distance
  5. Add the new MWG Midboard in place with your favored silkscreen design facing up.
  6. Replace the two lower screws
  7. Replace the 4 upper posts
  8. Replace the LF Antenna with 4 screws careful to note the arrows on the antenna screw posts pointing to the lower 2 posts.

Pretty quick and easy mod, This was my first time dissembling and attaching the enhancers.

Do NOT do what I have done here, this was just me fucking around, You only need one board or the other. NOT BOTH

I haven’t decided what to call it…FrankenProx :interrobang:

Or ProxMark Z :

PROs
• Simple installation

• Effective

• Makes reading implants far easier

• Looks sexier than stock

• Profile not changed with Mid-Board and Back board only slightly protrudes

CONs

  • Slight reduction in ISO card range, but still more than usable

  • I have nothing else

  • Why are you still reading the CONS  ?

“HACKS”

It is a HACK!

PRICE
USD$20 each ( YOU ONLY NEED ONE BOARD! )

SUMMARY:

Does what it says on the tin.
The forum is full of people struggling with reading their implants on Proxmark3’s, often times this is a user error and lack of understanding, this is resolved with the infogram printed on the boards, Other times, the implant is to deep or awkward, This is solved with the Field Enhancers doing what they do.

Imagine Hammy’s repeaters, these work fantastic on the surface of a reader/phone, but they work even better when offset from the surface, this is not practical on a phone or most readers etc, but with the Proxmark, Hammy has taken advantage of the PM3 design and included this in the natural stand off?

Great well thought out design, and it works well.
For $20, it is a worthwhile enhancement, You’ll thank Hammy for it.

Since launching this i have came across 2 different Proxmark variants that the Midboard will not fit on. If you have a Proxmark3 ordered from Dangerous Things you are fine. However if you have one from ali-express it will not be. I am going to work on getting hole dimensions available on the site for those with a possible variant.

One such is identified below. Another has the actual HF antenna built onto the Midboard. On both of them the Backplane will not attach as the hole patterns are different.

AS a quick note, you can actually replace your entire Midboard with a backplane board with some creative spacers. This thins up the PM3 pretty significantly and makes it look slick IMHO. If this is your intent let me know and ill include the 1mm spacers instead of the standoffs.

That looks sexy AF! Why did I get an RDV4 again?

I’ll inevitably make one for the Rdv4

This is exactly what I’d planned to do with mine, so glad it has already been tried.

At least that one is only manufactured in one standard size. And it has replaceable antennas! Which gives you even more options.

It does indeed

They are just not developed for reading of implants like Hammys Field Enhancers , except the @TomHarkness / Dangerous Things LF one…

I would like to say my review is no where near as technical as @Pilgrimsmaster but this product (Mod? Accessory? Whatever term you prefer) does work very well.

Initially I installed both midboard and backplane before @Hamspiced caught me and informed me I only need one

Even with both (which makes them way less reliable) I was able to actually read my implant for the first time using the PM3.

After removing the Back-plane and only using the midboard, I can say I get a read within 2-3 tries after just slapping the PM3 on my hand in “roughly” the right position and wiggling (You should still probably try to position it right), a FAR better improvement from stock where I had no reads at all regardless of what I did.

Disclaimer

I may just be a complete idiot and can’t use a stock PM3. But I can use this!

I did have some small difficulties installing as I have a unique PM3!

On the PM3 Easy I got from the DT Store, I did need to use 6 spacers and not 4, but @Hamspiced has since sent me the last two I was missing. (And I believe will now send 6 standard but please check first).

It still works perfectly with only 4 spacers and I have been reading my implant for a while now just because I can

In short, if you’re struggling to read implants, I’d give one of these a try. 100% worth it and if I ever get another PM3 or an RDV4, I will be buying more.

Thank you @Hamspiced for making this product!

Hey, glad to see you can finally use your implants without fighting the RF gods!

Funnily enough, last night I just purchased a backplane, and I can’t wait to try it out!
