Greetings, this is my first post on this forum apologies in advance if I picked the wrong category or make some formatting mistakes.
About a month ago I ordered a NExT V2 (which came with the freebie xSLX, very cool I was super excited) and ordered all the extras. This got me the proxmark 3, the signal boosting board, and a bunch of other rad toys to play with! My question is, through watching tutorials and other research, I have seen to be careful not to ground the posts, as the center two act as antena. Further, I would like to bring it with me when I travel but, I don’t want it to get damaged in my bags or from travel. I have looked around online for cases and seen some cool prints. I do not, however, have a 3D printer nor know anything about it.
This leaves me wondering, how should I pick a file to potentially pay someone else to print? Do I really need a case at all, or am I just being overly cautious? How do y’all go about traveling with your proxmarks? Many thanks in advance for any and all input!
Meh put it into a felt baggie and it’ll be fine. I have my raw proxmark bobbin around in my backpack and it’s been fine so far.. but yeah a little bit of protection is probably a good idea. The only major thing is don’t have the cable plugged in while packed / travelling.
If you’re really worried about it and want one of the 3D printed cases, I’d suggest checking if a public library near you has them available. some do, and they usually just charge material costs for anything you want made.
I made this file to go along with my Midwest Gadgetspm3 gear. Not perfect, not the best, just another option if you want to slim down your board.
Do this first please, but if you don’t have any luck with the libraries/hackerspaces, (and assuming you are in the US), DM me. I’ve got a printer as a last resort, no charge.
A truly wonderful idea! I’ve been a couple of times and hadn’t seen any but, I gave them a call just in case, neither my town nor the nearest one have any. But, it was worth a shot!
This is good to know! I do like the idea of a little bag. I figured the proxmark wasn’t as fragile as I’ve been treating it. But, I’m always very cautious with any electronics or toys.
I really like the look of your print! I was looking at the description you linked, and is it setup such that you can still run the midboard just in an adjusted position? Or is it always without it all together?
It will be a minute before I can provide photos, but essentially the main thing is to remove one set of standoffs, particularly the set between the LF antenna and midboard.
You might need to mess with small plastic washers to get it to work right, but here is what I mean:
In theory, this can mess with the connection of the LF antenna and tags, but in my experience, it doesn’t negatively impact performance with xSeries enough to notice.
Oh I understand now! I wonder if some little rubber o-rings would work to prove the needed space and might be found even at my local hardware store. I’m definitely going to check that out! Thanks for the explanation!
That’s phenomenal
A photo of this flexible fold-up, fully unfurled and flat for fans to follow, would be fantastic for facilitating flawless fabrication, fine-tuning the folds for a fast fit, and finishing
