Proxmark Easy USB‐C?

Hello,

Just checking before I start a load of CAD work and some PCB design, but has anyone made an adapter or found a compatible USB-C port for the Proxmark v3 Easy sold on the DT store?

If not would anyone be interested in the designs should I make one?

Not an adapter, but isn’t the PM3 X basically an easy with Usb-C (and other stuff)?

Might be worth looking at

And apparently a manual transmission

  • USB-C
  • MiniUSB
  • IDE
  • SCSI
  • Centronics
  • RS-485
  • Token Ring

Token Ring? Last time i heard that tossed around was 15 years ago and it was dated then :joy: I didn’t realize it was a port, i thought it was just a protocol.

For more info,

My plan was to get either a super thin fiberglass pcb or a flex pcb to adapt the mounting and solder locations to a common USB C port.

You just made me feel old…

The RDV4 has a MicroUSB connector and I don’t think that it’s a big deal, but my favorite WiFi card has a MiniUSB and I carry a bunch of adapters for all my toys…

Still, a USB C Proxmark3 would be nice.

Ive decided to just go ahead with it. Ill keep you guys updated

Naa you’re right… the original token ring specification called for shielded twisted pair cable using either a DB9 connector or a square connector called the IBM data connector. Later adoption allowed for unshielded twisted cable with RJ-45 connectors… so mayti should update that option to be RJ45

You should reach out. I have something already in the works I could easily add a usb-c port but I need to know your thoughts on how to interface it to the PM3 easy

It switches it to id mode.

There are two additional buttons on each side.

It has standalone cloning hardware.

Switch the hardware to id mode

Turn on the software switch for id mode

Then you press one button to read and the other button to write

I’ve never used it.
