Put a fingernail LED on dUG4T?

Hi all,

First forum post so I don’t know if I’m doing this right. Was just wondering if DT is able to stick a nail LED on the dUG4T. Unfortunately I have no idea how antennas work other than that they’re round spirals.

Thanks in advance!

Edit: I suppose all spirals are round

It’s not about the antenna–there just isn’t room.

Thanks for letting me know!!

@Satur9 you led me astray :pensive_face:

Unlikely, he would have had his reasons if that’s what he suggested.

I have the utmost trust in Satur9! Just being silly about it. :sweat_smile::sweat_smile::blush:

Sorry for any misunderstanding!

Ah I see cause the UG4 antenna is just too thick. The dNExT the foil antenna is thinner than the t5577 antenna so there’s room for the nail pcbs.

I know k3y3 from the BHD Discord even though this is their first post here. No worries

It’s more the small diameter of the ug4 antenna means the t5577 takes up all the extra space. Here’s the dNExT where you can see there’s plenty of space for the nails with the t5577 having enough space in the middle to float around a little bit and become offcenter in this prototype;

The dUG4T just doesn’t have room, and putting the nail over the t5577 isn’t visible really because it actually is too thick for that with like 250 turns across like 10 layers.
