I plan on getting my debit card converted into an implant and I tried removing the chip but I’m not sure if I did it right. The copper wire on it broke but the actual chip is still intact. I’m not sure if the copper wire has to stay intact for the implant to be made or not. I’m also not getting an nfc read from it anymore. Do I need to get a new debit card and try again or is this how it’s supposed to go?
Generally we reccomend you send it to Amal intact for him to extract and test.
What sort of card is it from?
It’s just a visa debit card I have linked to my checking account with desert financial. I didn’t know I could send the whole card in since when I read through the product page I saw it said I’d have to extract the chip before sending it in. Is Amal the one who does the conversions or would I have to send it to him separately, or would I just be able to buy the conversion service then send my whole card in?
For people who are comfortable extracting the module from the card then I encourage that because it lets them confirm it is in fact CoM before sending it in or purchasing the conversion service.
If you’re not comfortable doing it, you can send it in and I can extract the module for conversion. The only potential risk is that you pay for conversion service and I go through extraction and it’s not a CoM, in which case I would refund you 50% of the conversion service fee. Because you’ve already extracted it once and confirmed it is a module, I think you’re safe here if you just want to send the whole card in for conversion.
Thanks, would i have to send it to you directly or would you receive it if I sent it in through the information I get after buying the conversion service?
Yeah the purchase of the conversion service will result in an email with instructions. Print out a copy of the confirmation and include in tbr box with the card and I’ll do my best
Awesome thank you for the help. I also wanted to ask if there are any other ways to confirm it’s a COM chip. It has the 2 little dots but I never tested if it was giving an nfc read before I took it apart. Would the 2 dots and getting an nfc read the only ways to confirm it’s a COM chip, and if it doesn’t give a nfc read does that mean it’s 100% not a COM?
Basically it’s not really possible to know 100% unless you take it apart but the two dots is a very good indication. You could also try shining a light through the contact side and looking on the back to see if you can see coils around the module surface.
Well I’ll be…
Only reason stopping me from getting it done is fear that I’ll mess it up. Was even thinking of pm’ing you this weekend to say I’ll pay extra to have you extract it lol.
I’ll probably be submitting my order soon. Just have to figure out where to put it.
