Hi all, i just implanted a Blue xSIID and i cant seem to get a read on it, do i have to wait a few weeks for the swelling and blood to go down first?
Very likely yes
General rule is 2-3 weeks
Yes. My swelling caused my xSIID to be un-findable for nearly 3 weeks, after that, I had no problem once I learned the position of the implant and the proper orientation of the phone or other reading device to activate it. You’ll be OK!
What area of the body do you have it in? My xSIID is in right P0.
Ill add to this.
I know that it seems a bit scary that you cant get a read and you are probably excited to play with it. Its perfectly normal to not be able to read or use it initially. It may not look like there is swelling in the area but there is and it is affecting the read range.
Nothing to be concerned with.
At around the 3 week mark you should be able to read and get it to light up occasionally and possibly write.
It will be infrequent as you learn to use the new device. However as your body accepts the device and lowers its guard against the trauma of the area youll get better and better read/write abilities as well as you being trained on the best way to orient your devices to read it.
I know it seems like a blanket statement to just say wait and see, but everyone’s body reacts differently to implants. some heal quicker, some take longer. It took me about 4 weeks to be able to really get successful reads but i was able to use it immediately after install for about 12 hours before it got harder and harder to read as swelling began. My case seems to be the most common.
To put your mind at ease, what is not common and incredibly rare is that the implant is dead. especially the xSiid’s. So if that is your main concern dont fret, just give it a little time and report back.
thanks for the assurance all!!
