RFID Field Detector Ultra - LF/HF/UHF
INTRODUCTION
I grabbed myself a RFID Field Detector Ultra.
It is an updated version of their previous release
This little fob is touted as the world’s first tri-band detector, picking up Low Frequency (125kHz), High Frequency (13.56MHz), and Ultra High Frequency (860-960MHz) simultaneously. .
Different colour LEDs light up depending on what’s active:
• Red LED = Low Frequency (125kHz) 
• Green LED = High Frequency (13.56MHz) 
• Blue LED = Ultra High Frequency (860–960MHz) 
TESTING INCLUDING READ RANGES
I tested this against a few standard readers:
Different readers output different power, so read range is mostly irrelevant.

But long story short, It Just Works
TEARDOWN
There’s not a lot to tear down physically without destroying the thing because it’s completely potted in a heavy-duty resin/epoxy shell which is transparent so you can see most of the inner workings

SUMMARY:
The Dangerous Things xFDs remain unbeatable because their coils are tuned and sized specifically to mimic xSeries implants. For just quickly figuring out if a reader is actively transmitting, the flat DT Diagnostic Card is still the go-to pocket tool, while the circular detector designs from Midwest Gadgets, are far superior for finding the absolute sweet spot to position repeater stickers. Compared to the older Proxgrind detector, the Lab401 Ultra offers virtually identical read performance on LF and HF, making it an incremental upgrade that primarily adds that third UHF frequency, a choice of three LED colourways, (sky blue, champagne and purple) and a sturdy, keyring-ready epoxy body (assuming you still carry keys). Ultimately, if your goal is optimizing implant coupling or positioning repeaters, the DT xFDs and circular field detectors are far better suited for the job—but if you want a robust, all-in-one keyring tool that passively picks up UHF on top of standard LF and HF, the Ultra would not be my first choice for cyborg purposes but it would make a is a solid addition to your EDC.
