I updated dngr.us/r code to try all the tricks to get it to try and auto-play.. but if all the tricks fail there is a simple overlay that just says “Click or tap here for a surprise!” and once they tap or click (user interaction) the video will play with audio.

I miss the days before YouTube introduced add rolls to online videos. If you want to pick a video of your own, you might still be able to pay to host videos on Vimeo or similar sites. (Of course, you could also host your own web server or peertube instance.)

Yes. You pay for pro so you don’t see ads. Based on their business model, there is no way YouTube could charge you a fee to ensure OTHER people can see your video without ads.. what if you get famous and 50987839237987981729873981729873918273 people view your video 8983791873984798379487198739719487983479871983794879847398719739874987139879719069099840101023939840272047240 times in 0.00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001 nanoseconds? They would have no way to bill you appropriately for that.

As an aside.. I’m tinkering with federated video;

It might be possible to open it up to the community for biohacking purposes.. we’ll see. I just uploaded my Kick streams to it for testing.
