Back to it. Gona try adding some stats to the memory . Im toying with the idea of adding a 3 axis gyro. And make the pet wobble about and bump and squish off the sides of the screen.

But in other news. Ive added 3 stats. Hunger boredem and hygiene. Each decay at a different rate ranging from 2 to 5 hours. This is a great start and i can start moving the UI about to make it more suitible for the direction we are going. Ill skip the artwork and animation for now in replacement of word place holder. “Hatching” “Idle” “eating” “sleeping” “pooping” to name a few.

Oh and i sacked chatgpt for coding. Im using a new ai and its a hell of alot more fruitfull and doesnt seem to forget prior code its been given. Claude.ai i recomend it.

Alass we are still a while away form the smart phone App. But we should be able to produce a tamagotchi style device. Who knows maybe ai can port it to android for me…

Thank you! I was having fun in vim sketching up whatever popped into my head, but I’ve had some more ideas since then.

Maybe this is too much to think about at this stage, but I was wondering what sorts of constraints you’ll have for the graphics or what sort of style/themes you’re going for? eg, resolution? ASCII vs pixels? Do you want creatures to have different sprites for different activities/states? Or even animations? I imagine for a nurture game you’d focus more on a small set of characters, or even just one character, compared to a collectable game that would have more characters with fewer sprites per character.

I wanna go sketch some more now but instead of typing them up in vim I’ll just do some concept sketches in krita, not in an in-game style, but just to maybe serve as inspiration. You assigned fun homework.

so lets touch base and update. we have got a working base code that controls all the hard ware, as well as save and load stats and timestamps to memory of the m1 and ntag 216 respectively. we have added stat degradation ,so bitch gets hungry… but, im maxing out the message lenght of the ai code bot im using so i think im gona have to be clever on how i proceede.

in the mean time ive knocked togeather a pcb, that should do the job , as i cba to make a proto board as there wires would be everywhere,

New ui template is in . And does what it should do. Seems to be an issue with saving and loading exisiting save files. But that should be fixed this evening. And we can start looking at sprites and animations.

i have a spair half hour this evening so im gona take another stab at it, i have 2 codes, one that works ( creates loads updates) but a piss poor ui. the other has 90% of the ui, but doesnt save propperly, so now im attepting to strip back the working one (without breaking it) in an attempt to add the ui later…

also i will verify the pcb against the working breadboard, so i can send off for the pcbs, the will take about 2 weeks. ill order 10 i need 2 ( for me and don) the rest are up for grabs by invoking the universal commerce agreement of ‘‘dibbs’’ … below, the are easily assembled, with minimal tools

I always wonder how you find the time for all these quests. My habit is to assume that I wouldn’t be able to accomplish that much in just half an hour, and I end up postponing until I have a larger block of time to dedicate to a thing. Carpe semihora!

heheh i just got home from work i get about half hour out of the ai coder before it time locks me out for a few hours, at this point im just amending the prompt to add a new feature , flash it and test it, for example yestiday i added birthdays’ and ages. tonight i may mess with the ui and add some place holders.

as for finance, its a cheap little project, pcbs cost less than a dollar each, its build from all my spairs in my draws.
