Switchbot Lock (non pro) with Keypad testing

If I owned the lock, I would be considering another Hammy / Midwest Gadgets product.

An NFC extender; I would open up the switchbot, and add the extender to “bring the antenna from inside to outside”

These work great and PROBABLY your best bet of getting a read.

Now that def looks like it would be fun to tinker with…. That said i did find a deadbolt from amazon that works. You can find it here. I can get a good read like 7 times out of 10, maybe 50/50 if the temps are too high. Here it is in action.

I was wondering if there were any newer implants that might work better with the switchbot reader? I have been using a switchbot lock for a month or so now and it’s the only smart lock I can use because I rent and can’t change the locks. I saw that a lot of people have had issues with the reader in the past, but I’m thinking they might have updated the reader because mine has been working great, I havent had a failed read yet, and it reads from a bigger distance than I was expecting. Really hoping I can get an implant that works with it, even if it doesnt read on the first try 100% of the time

If you use a repeater, it works fine with x-Series… So long as you have a Magic MIFARE Classic implant. From what we can see about how it works, it will never be able to work with something like a NExT.
