Antinatalism: yay or nay?
Yes. Instead of !g I use !sp every now and then. It still avoids google, somehow, but I like to stay on DDG.
Yes itās a pain, like everything privacy related.
I can accept it to a point, but I re-serch on google/startpage too often. Iād like DDG to be a bit better ![]()
Can I just mention how much I love !bangs? I wish that there was a plugin or extension that would do that
Hey @amal any chance youād be willing to do an interview with me for an English paper Iām writing?
It is on people who have found their ācallingsā and I quite think you fit that category. The audio version will be uploaded to storycorps.org
I have one too. Itās called āwhat did I just inject into myselfā where guests give all the details of⦠what?.. not buying it? damnā¦
DDG has always been Wikipedia search with side search results thrown in.
Different search engines have different strong points:
- DDG over TOR it for general knowledge and semi-technical queries when I donāt mind vague answers, or having to scroll down a few pages to find what Iām after
- Google for anything with a pricetag, very obscure technical queries and hair-splitting grammar or syntax questions, or when I really have no other choice
- Qwant for stuff in French
- Bing for porn - itās not much good for anything else, but itās very good for that
Of course, with regular cookie wiping, browser fingerprinting evasion, much Noscripting and Adblocking, and a healthy dose of Tampermonkeying to stop Googleās heavy nagging.
It is - so I get all the nice google results without actually selling my data to them
So okay for me
And Iām fine with that.
90% of my searches relate to technical stuff.
But recently DDG has begun failing to find results within wikis.
Results it used to find⦠and now arenāt even on the top 5 pages, whilst even bing fetches them on first page. (from wikipedia, arch wiki, stack overflow, etcā¦)

Sounds like Iāll switch into your suggestion then, @Coma ! ![]()
Itās just sad to see DDG selling out like that.
100% of my searches begin with an absolutely useless e-bay and or amazon result.
if I want to prove a pointā¦
This is what I get:
Sooo⦠since all search engines serve individual users results according to their previous searches (the so-called filter bubble), someoneās been doing some shopping ![]()
Oh and also, āanal prolapseā is safe for work. āhot steaming interracial midget anal prolapse imagesā isnāt.
Depends where you work ![]()
I would imagine viewing images of such would be NSFW. But surely not doing a text search. Itās no different than doing a search for ankle sprain really - although I admit it might make for a cringeworthy moment if your boss drops in on you.
Or maybe you were thinking of hot steaming interracial midget anal prolapse images being safe for work in some places? ![]()
That is the first time I have EVER heard anybody say anything positive about Bing
In fairness Every time I hear people mention it is always preceeded by āFuckingā
eg.
āUgh, Fucken Bingā
Maybe I misunderstood what they were using it for
Well itās there. Might as well use it. Itās like dumpster-diving: thereās bound to be good stuff even in trash. So I dumpster-dived Bing and found the good stuff in it ![]()

I hope it is. One remarkable thing with Amal is, he walks the talk and implant a lot of his own products. So Iām guessing if thatās the wedge/slim Apex, Amal being confident enough to open himself to get it in is a good sign.
In retrospect, I realize now he never implanted a flexNExT. Shoulda spotted that flaw ![]()
Did you just shoot and post a video reply while driving? ![]()
Yeah I got the self-driving package for my 2008 Honda Odyssey.
