The crazy part is, if you want to win an election, you shoot at your own guy.
It’s the rally around the candidate effect. Even if you successfully assassinate the person, you’ve just guaranteed the election of their successor. Moral and Ethics aside, assassinations, effective or not, are just plain counterproductive.
It’s almost like they’re looking straight at the guy. The reaction time is instantaneous.
When JFK got shot there was a low grade 35mm film and a coupla still shots.
They’ve probably got enough high definition multi angle footage of this shooting to do a complete 3d render and walk through it in real time.
Hell, somebody probably will.
And somebody will manipulate it.
and so on and so forth.
I don’t really know what happened but the idea of a right leaning candidate getting shot is the sort of thing that I’d expect to happen in a third world country with communist guerrilla groups.
This was normal for Colombia up to the early 2000s. But it feels out of place for the US.
Or maybe growing up in the third world leads you to idealize the first world. But at the end of the day, humans are the same shitty creatures with the same shitty politics everywhere.
The more I watch that video of the snipers taking a shot, and seeing Trump react after… I don’t know man did they miss the shooter with that shot? Trump grabs his ear almost as if the loud noise from the sniper rifle is what he was putting his hand up to his ear about. The timing is just off. I know he gets up off the ground and there’s blood on that ear but the timing is just not making sense. The only way for that to happen would be for the sniper to take a shot and miss and then the gunman get a number of rounds off… enough to hit Trump and the people in the stands etc. all while the sniper teams are still trying to take the guy down? I mean…maybe.
This is the great thing about cameras everywhere and the internet… revisionism will be a lot harder when there’s a lot of raw footage floating around. Yes there will be AI edited nonsense to deal with… I guess we are living in a post-truth era
