The antiđŸš«-derailment🚃 & threadđŸ§” hijackingđŸ”« threadđŸ§” ⁉

Yeah, giving me, a person who wasn’t 21 when they bought it, full access to it alone for multiple days was not their brightest idea.

Then again they kinda needed me to set it up and configure it so

I have them. They are great unless you are at fault in a crash. However they are very common here so there is a good chance the other vehicle has one as well.

What I think is best about them is the parking mode. If your car gets hit or someone damages it (my brother had his “keyed” at a car park last week), there is a recording which can help ide tidy the offender.

Stupid question, so I’ll ask here. Maybe tac0s will know

What happens to failed implants as in, manufacturing defects, bad antennas, poor glass seals
The stuff that gets caught by DT testing?

Is there just a bucket they go into? Are there so few that they almost don’t exist? Not entirely sure what your manufacturing process looks like from start to finish.

I’d like a display piece for my desk that has each of my implants, but obviously don’t want to drop multiple hundreds of dollars on it. They would just have to look identical. Would be useful as an example for friends too.

For the most part we have arrangements to reject them at the factory level and we never see them. With flex and other small batch production we do here in the lab, we have a collection of things but usually do destructive testing on them, so there’s nothing left just hanging out in a bin. Defective returns also tend to meet this fate, and we wouldn’t want to ship out anything that’s been in someone anyway, even if it was only for display.

That said, we may have some duds around that still look undamaged.

Actually
so would I  Someone posted this photo to the DT reddit and I just love this idea

If someone could source this kind of display cube, we might actually start producing these using duds

I gotchu

This one wouldn’t be good for bulk or selling purposes, but I’d probably end up with something like this:

If you have a dud NExT and/or xMagic that looks mostly undamaged visually, let me know and name your price

The implication that it comes with an injector makes it 5x more comical.

I’m wondering if anything comes with the little mounting post inside the cube. I guess a 3D print could solve that though

An idea I originally had
Think of a picture frame but deep
A “shadow box” I think its called. Put a piece of felt on the back, with a small N52 magnet glued to the back between the (presumably) wood and felt.

An xSeries should be able to be held up by it.

Boom! Display.

Could throw a small USB powered LED in it too.

I was just starting to shop for dash-cams this weekend, and was quite lost myself. Too many features. I just wanted something with audio and low light vision to record perpetually to a removable disk, and I figure I’ll let my PC do the post processing if I need to keep the footage. I guess their “parking mode” features probably save storage by not keeping footage that’s absent of motion or noise?

? ăƒœ(ăƒ»âˆ’ăƒ» )ノ ? I dunno. I need to research more. Curious as well.

Mine has a setting where it only records when the ignition is off, if the vehicle is bumped. It is pretty sensitive though. It’s a ROAV model from Amazon. I like it as it has wifi and I can download footage to my phone without removing the sad card (which means I don’t forget to stick it back in afterwards).
