June 2022 VivoKey Apex Flex update

Super excited with what I’ve been able to do with the Apex Flex so far. I’ve got SmartPGP on there and linked in the key authentication to my workflow here (SSH auth / git commit signing). Yeah… hate to be the bearer of bad news, but there’s a lot of errors in there. I’ll try to break it down. Going of the dump from your screenshot: Sector 0 seems okay. Sectors 1-15 (everything else) are toast. Your access bits for these sectors got all kinds of messed up, probably from a failed write. Unfortunately, they seem set in a state where you likely won’t be able to fix it. The gen2 chip in the Magic Ring can’t be reset with backdoor commands, so you gotta be careful what you write to…

xSIID sector 1 encrypted password storage

I figured it was a waste not to use the 1kb of storage in sector 1 on the xSIID so I wrote a python script to use it for simple aes-256 encrypted password storage with the The input file is in csv format but the output when the implant is read is json. Sector 0 is untouched so it’s still possible to read/write NDEF records normally as well as store/read the encrypted data on sector 1. If anyone wants it let me know and I’ll put the code on github or something
