I think most would agree the most advanced chip DT sells is the NExT, and I think its functionality is great. The only thing holding me back from the NExT is that it doesn’t blink like the xSIID, (I guess that’s why DT sells the xSIID bundle with the xEM, to give that full functionality).
About a year ago I emailed Amol and he told me a NExT with a blinky was in the works.
This would be an instant purchase for me, and I hate to admit it but I’m delaying my xSIID injection in hopes that this becomes available soon.
Does anyone have any information on this? Or any info on new products DT has set to release?
That implant is canned the NExT V2 and includes a blinky for the 13.56mhz side of things… but it’s been a nightmare of failures to get these done properly. We’re still working on it though.
I’m not sure if your definition of advanced, and the NExT is with out a doubt a good implant, But I personally wouldn’t say it is the most advanced, that title I would give to the ApexFlex or Mega and the Flex Secure.
If I was searching to give a title to the next i would suggest that it.Is is the most common (not a bad thing, it’s common for a reason)
the most frequently implanted first implant.
A great option to dip your toe in the water (the “best” in my opinion, is the xMagic because it has a T5577 and MF1k chip, the MF1k pips the NTAG216 that is in the NExT because it is more common but the (N)UID can also be changed)
None of the above have Blinkies, with the exception of the Apex Spectrum, but this is no longer on offer.
The NExT2 (when it happens) will use an NTAG I2C Plus chip, the same that is in your xSIID, which is different from the NTAG216 in the NExT, the only difference between the xSIID and the NExT2 is it has a T5577 chip in it.
If that combination of chips is what you want, and you already have the xSIID, you could grab yoursel an xEM and implant it along side the xSIID (>5mm away)
Regarding the release date, that is an unknown at the moment, the best people placed to answer that is Tac0s and Amal
Joking aside, I’d just get the two implants that Pilgrimsmaster suggested. You get the same two chips, but it’ll take an extra stab. Which is not a big deal in the grand scheme of things.
If you want the latest information and to see what’s going on behind the scenes, you could join the DT Club. There’s not really additional information about this and definitely not an ETA. But we try and give the Club early access to things.
I have seven implants and have TONS of space left.
I have 4 but all on the same hand. I was hoping I could squeeze in some more implants that are more or less for daily usage… But then… a video of the flexNT2 from 3 years ago told me to save the space and keep hoping
I was waiting for the xMagic for quite a while, it wasn’t initially in any plan that I was aware of, So I got myself an xEM and xM1 and implanted them alongside each other to achieve the same thing.
To do this I had to remove one implant (Spark) to make room for the other 2, and then reinstall the Spark.
Then install the xEM and xM1
Job done, I got what I wanted
A little while later, there were whispers of the xMagic.
It was released, I grabbed one, I removed the xEM and xM1, and installed the xMagic, and relocated the xEM and xM1
So if you are counting
Spark IN-OUT-IN xEM IN-OUT-IN xM1 IN-OUT-IN xMagic IN
I got stabbed 7 times
I got cut 3 times
All that to get an xMagic
Do I regret it? FUCK NO
I’m happy as Larry
Would I do it again? FUCK YEAH
All this to say, If you want something enough, don’t wait for others make it happen.
The xEM and xM1 came out again later, and the xEM will go back in with my FlexDF2, so more stabs, more cuts
If you are always waiting for the next best thing, you will never get anything
