I know this is weird, but work through this using only the information that I had available.
What I was able to see was a @tac0s talking about magnet development in DT Club in April 2024, then @amal brings a discussion out from DT Club into public yesterday.
Using only the information above, which was all I had access to, there was clearly a nearly year long discussion. This is strictly based off what I have access to.
Now, today, we both know that isn’t true, but yesterday, to me, it very much was. And that is the truth I’ve had for that time of nearly a year from April 2024 til now. So I’ve been sucking lemons the whole time.

I kind of get that but also you can see the date stamps on the posts moved to the public forum. They are not old.
I guess as Schrodinger’s construction crew, you can take my word for it that we don’t do that kind of discussion in the club or at least don’t keep it there for long? I can swear there are no armadillos in the box, just cats.

Remove the paywall for DT forum posts. Leave the rest of DT Club.
If I had just known what was going on, then I wouldn’t have spent the last almost year, feeling like I was getting locked out.
The whole point is this. As long as I don’t know, I can only speculate, and with just a few data points that I did have, my analysis left me pretty unhappy.
The information wall really truly left me believing that this long discussion / development was going on that I was not welcome in. And that felt… bad.
Side note, as a devout INTJ, this discussion of my feelings also makes me feel weird.
AND, I should really add, this isn’t a matter of how I feel, potentially everyone outside of the DT Club who thinks there’s a discussion going on in there could feel equally bad. It’s a community issue.

I guess I’m having a hard time making it clear that there was nothing going on. I may have posted an occasional update like “yeah still no update on Titan”… when people ask for Titan updates on the public forum, I respond with as much information as the club was getting… basically nothing.
Literally the process of going from no updates to hey we have a sample here and omg I think this could be a contender to holy shit @Az_F is selling them and we might too was like 24 span. It’s been a whirlwind.

That would leave nothing The club exists only as a specific forum category. To see posts in that category you gotta be in da club

You would still have preorders. Publicly announced but available only to DT Club.
You could do lab tours, etc, but would need to be in a locked post format.
Discounts like x% off, or 10 bucks off once a year (poor examples, I know) but limited to DT Club.
Frankly I’m not sure what all DT Club is used for, or how it could be used publicly. I just know that not being part of a potential conversation is always going to be a source of resentment for me, and potentially others as well.
Maybe nothing changes, life will go on. But these are my thoughts and views on the subject (hence the thread title) and it would be disingenous to smile and pretend I was happy with the status quo. I’m not sharpening pitchforks and lighting torches either, if that helps.

Rest assured this is exactly what the DT Club is. Anyone in the club feel free to call me out on this, but I think you and I have the same ideas as to what should be a community discussion, and I promise those things will always be public.

Yeah I understand the perspective… the last 24 hours has been a big lesson in perspectives haha
I hope we have both arrived at a much clearer understanding and now share a higher plane perspective on the matter.

Your feelings are valid, I will just add this and hope it helps to reassure you that nothing is going on that non-club members wont eventually find out about.

I think you both have points.
Ultimately to my mind it is a matter for Amal as it is his company.
That said, I am in the club for the sole reason that I am fortunate enough (as I am now in my early 50s and have progressed through my career and kids are pretty much independent now - last one finishing final year of high school) to have some spare cash. I love tech and DTs aims and research and I want to help out.
I wouldn’t care if the club posts were public posts and accessible to all. I would still be in the club simply because I believe in DT and believe it is through companies like this that we advance and push the edge.
I also love DTs ethics. I think 99% of companies could learn from DT and are likely terrified by its approach.
So thanks Amal. Your response to these questions also exemplifies the comments I have made about you and DT above.

And my thought process wasn’t for social interaction (though I totally see how that could become an issue over time). I was mostly thinking about organization/topics changing etc.
I appreciate the sentiment of doing everything possible to keep the club more about bonuses and sneak-peak type things as opposed to knowledge/social gate keeping.

As a somewhat new user who only recently joined the DT Club, I think keeping everything open to the public that we don’t want the AI (Pilgrimsmaster not you) and web-scrubbers to get at is a good thing.
