Finally got mine installed, bought it all the way back in batch 2. Installed on the left ring fingertip laterally facing inside this past Thursday, 4 days ago at this point. No stitches or anything, just a steristrip. I’ll post a picture when I change the bandages, I’m definitely going a bit overboard with a steristrip, waterproof bandage, and self adhesive medical tape for a bit of padding. I work in a kitchen though so I really want it to stay dry.
It all went fine other than misplacing the plastic tweezers we were going to use in the middle of the procedure, lol. Didn’t really end up needing them though. Had a lido digital block and the most pain was from the lido injections. So far it looks like it’s healing really nicely despite the fact that I keep fidgeting with it and grabbing stuff and hitting it at the worst angle. I even felt a little bit of a tingle from one of those anti theft gates at target already!

Here it is six days after install, can’t even really tell it’s in there which is crazy to me. It’s just right below the incision in the image.

That looks insanely good, I am jealous. Mine is shallow enough that there is a very prominent bump.

Very nicely done. That’ll have just the slightest of scars. :+1:

Sitting in my hotel room in Austin, about 8 hours post-install for my Titan. I was a batch 2 buyer, but have just now gotten the install. Pineapple did an amazing job and he put me at ease.

I’m excited for it to heal. Tomorrow I fly back to Indianapolis.

Post-install protection. 15 min after install.

7-hours after install:

I’m worried about bumping it in the night, but can’t stay awake forever!

I think you’re the first pineapple slice since his hiatus

Well, he’s lost no skill!

I was 13 days from my appointment in March when he had to go back in last March. I was able to get a refund on flights, hotel, & car. Even more important is that he healed up. Great guy! Even had great local food recommendations.

If you go to the East Austin location, Via 313 pizza is amazing, and the Hampton Inn Austin East Side 5th Street location is easy walking distance to his shop!

Via313 is a piece of my heart.

I’m from Detroit so when I stumbled across it while at the brewery 8 it so years ago I was in love.

Now I’m back in Detroit and I couldn’t care less about Detroit style.

9-days post-install update.
Took stitches out on day 5. Was surprised at how much blood came out from the stitch holes, but no real pain, and they stopped bleeding quickly.

Day 9 photo. Mostly healed. Still a ton of numbness. Magnet migrated away from pocket to near incision, but I’m okay with position.

Haven’t tried to lift much, but it isn’t really a lifting magnet anyway. With that being said, ferro-fluid is fun to play with!

I’m also excited to share that not only can I loosen jars for my wife, I can now also Titan them.

Here we are 3 years later. I feel like it’s a part of my body, and I use it naturally for different things.

  • Makes it easy to tell if something is magnetic.
  • Easy to find fans and motors
  • Easy to tell if current is flowing in a wire/charger/anything that draws electricity. (Even my puffco pivot …)
  • It no longer hurts if I grab something and it press the manner into my bone. Unless it’s a super strong impact.
  • I use it to pick up screws and small things when working on electronics.
  • And of course party tricks :sweat_smile:

Can’t even see the magnet in the finger :sign_of_the_horns: the scar is minimal.

Finally got my Titan installed. Had a wonderful experience at Naked Steel In Kassel Germany. Here are two pics after 24 hours. I think it’s looking really good.

Update: I think I might have disturbed the encapsulation process lifting weights last week. I had a short intense pain on the finger tip and now it’s tender if that area is poked or even drying my hands on a towel. I’ll give it a relative rest for a few weeks.

Other than that, it looks great, slight discoloration due to this minor injury. Mild lifting, mild sensing, hope both get better
