mine is left hand left side of ring finger.

When gripping drywall to lift up vertically where all pads of all fingers are used it is noticed a lot. but again this is an Xg3 v2. its significantly larger than a titan. i didnt get on the titan train soon enough :frowning:

Same… Soon™ surely…

This is exactly where I have been planning my future titan. Hopefully it will be a non-issue considering how much smaller it is than the xG3.

Mine is positioned laterally on my right ring finger, somewhat towards the pinkie finger, and I’ve had it installed for four weeks. It definitely felt awkward during the early healing process. My ring finger and pinkie finger felt too close together, and it was hard to know where to put them when I was doing anything with my hand. But now that the scabbing is gone and the inflammation went down, I’m really enjoying this placement! My ring finger is still able to contribute in a meaningful, satisfying way when I’m gripping things, and it’s gotten to the point where I can just grab without consciously thinking about being careful with the magnet.

Do you happen to know the size of the needle used? And where they entered from?

I don’t know what size needle was used to make the pocket, but the magnet fit into it after a few attempts. The entry point was in between the two horizontal lines in the picture I posted before, and it follows the vertical line down towards where the Titan rests

I thought I posted this for a sec. This is literally my experience exactly. Even down to the LTT deskpad. Only thing different is that I went left ring finger

You also have center of pad placement? Any complaints or would you trade for an offset install in hindsight?

No sorry my placement is slightly off pad

It’s in. Clean smooth install, just a little blood after tourniquet was removed.

I wanted it centered but it ended up here. I’m sure I wont mind. I don’t dare try to move it with a magnet.

8 Days since install. There is a bump and I can’t figure out if it’s swelling or just due to the Titan being large. It sort of feels closer to the surface than it should be. Not sure if I’m just tripping. No pain, hotness, etc. The bump looks slightly lighter in color than normal skin, it’s hard to tell on camera. I have confirmed it is parallel to the skin using a viewing film.

What do ya’ll think?

Give it time… should settle.

Well… I finally got the titan that’s been sitting on my desk for over a year installed in my left middle finger. Installer used a needle to make the pocket before inserting the titan. Looked fine yesterday, but today I can clearly see the titan through the skin. Does not look normal compared to other pictures in this thread. Consensus in the Discord is that it’ll need to be removed and put in another finger. Installer is closed till Tuesday, no response yet on whether he can squeeze me in beforehand.

Pics from post install and 24hrs later attached to this post, trying to blur them but first time posting on Discourse via mobile.

Thoughts???

Dang, sorry to hear about that. From my experience the first time is almost always a learning experience. My NExT didn’t form a pocket because I wouldn’t leave it alone (my xMagic I got several months later is solidly in place) and my Titan is installed perpendicular to what would do the best lifting… because I was scared after my NExt to take off the bandages and mess up the install.

Hopefully it all works out smoothly! Welcome to the club, however brief your stay may be (but do come back )

My first time was definitely a learning experience. A few years ago I did a xG3v1, xMagic, NeXT, and Spark 2 on my kitchen table, followed a few months later by a HF xFD. All of them were straightforward and painless with the exception of the Spark 2 in the edge of one of my hands which ended up going all the way into muscle… It’s still there, I don’t know exactly where but it doesn’t hurt and I can still scan it so :person_shrugging:. I’d like to get it removed to use the spot for something else, but I’m not too sure how to go about that when its impossible to find with a magnet, flashlight, and IR vein finder.

Haven’t heard back from my installer yet on what he wants to do. I really would like to keep it in the same finger, but I don’t know how feasible that is. I’m sure he’ll do me a solid and help me get it fixed.

Long time lurker, not so frequent poster

Updated pics 7 days post install. Wound seems to have closed completely, but the magnet is still visible :crossed_fingers:.

How’s it looking now? I hope your installer got back to you by now. I understand you’d much rather keep it installed than have to remove it and try again. I went through a similar experience with my xG3 in January.

Personally, the more I was warned about infection, the more I was convinced. I’ll do anything and everything to steer clear of the Medical System. :mask:

On day 11 now. I removed the stitches a few days ago. Wound itself is closed, but the titan is still just as visible and shallow (if not worse now). No pain, itching, warmth, tingling, etc. I’ve been keeping it clean, dry, and covered 24/7.

At this point I’m certain it’ll need to come out, it’s just a matter of when. My installer is out of town in Vegas until Friday and it’s not clear if he’ll be opening up on Saturday. I very well could end up waiting till Tuesday for a reinstall. If the magnet rips the skin at all or shows any signs of infection, I will cut it out. Otherwise, I’m going to try to stick it out until I see my installer. He did this install with a needle as he was more comfortable with it, but I’m thinking my only chance at getting it reinstalled successfully may be with a scalpel.

I was really hoping to keep it in this spot on this finger, but I don’t think I have much of a choice now. If the finger is healed enough by the time I see my installer, I’ll see if he can put it in the other side of the same finger. If not, oh well…

Honestly, given how bad it was looking on the first few days, I didn’t think it would stay in for more than a week. I’ve been taking pictures daily and will put them in an album in chronological order once this whole ordeal is over.

(Really hard to see in the pictures, but there is a very very thin layer of skin covering the magnet. No part of it is exposed yet.)

Yeah this is the way… keep it clean and protected until your installer can deal with it. The skin covering it is dead, and with no blood vessels there it is not likely to recover. Keep it covered and clean until this can be addressed.

I had it removed and reinstalled in the other side of the same finge three weeks ago. Stitches were removed after 10 days.

It was healing real nicely up until the past few days. Woke up this morning to some pus on the bandage. Cleaned it real good and put a tight bandage over it. We’ll see how it looks in the morning.
