Tooth Magnet Project 🦷

I hope to get a tooth implant in the near future. I thought :thinking::thought_balloon: maybe my implant should get an implant as well…

Long story short: this topic is about exploring the possibilities of bone conduction through a magnet embedded into a dental crown.

Getting the implant is the relatively easy part of the project. Straight forward.

The challenge is: getting an amp, getting a loop that will generate the EM field to vibrate the magnet, getting a power source and making it into something wearable IRL scenario.

On the bright side :sunglasses::high_brightness:
Luckily, I don’t have to convince my wife that I defo need to put ANOTHER expensive magnet on the shopping list because of two reasons.

Spoiler alert, it will be a slow project. Expect real results in 2026.

Atilla!

I’m already working on something that may actually coincide with this. Not the toothy bit but the loopy bit.

How’s this project progressing?

About 3 Months after your post, I considered doing this myself, but I didn’t have enough time to get my ducks lined up, and didn’t end up needing a tooth implant.

Although I did briefly consider, depending on the size of the tooth, a small implant like an xNT could be used to fill the void during a Root Canal.

After a few consultations, it turns out that the most simple solution offers the best result.

I couldn’t argue with the doc, he made a good point: If I make it any more complicated than it needs to be I risk failure.

Considering the practical use of having built in bone conduction vs. an implant that possibly lasts a lifetime I opt for the second option. I thought about it a lot. I couldn’t think of any (!) scenario that would justify the project with all it’s risks and expenses.

Note that my argument is not that it’s particularly risky or expensive, rather than it’s being pointless.

Sorry I’m late to the party. There was a famous singer who after a dental filling gained the ability to hear the radio.. some how the filling made a textbook crystal radio… not sure of its validity but I bet yall googling it right now..

Let me start you off. I exspect a full report on my desk by the morning.
