Thankyou for having me! I recently purchased and installed the next v2. I was looking over the vehicle unlock project and was wondering if having two boards one for lock and one for unlock to the same fob would be plausible? I wasn’t sure but ordered two of them anyway. I know for sure I will use one on my truck bed toolbox. I was also wondering if I could power them from the car battery without any extra add ons other than longer ground and power wires. Any advise or constructive criticism would be greatly appreciated!
Yep you should be able to power them directly from the car battery. However they aren’t the lowest power devices in the world. If you don’t drive the truck every day, you might consider a power solution like a simple external facing weatherproof switch to power them up.
As far as connecting two boards to a single fob you can definitely do this, but if you wanted to be fancy you could be explore a flip-flop circuit.. or just use a momentary external facing weatherproof button to lock.. I can’t think of any reason to secure the locking function with an RFID access control board.
The reason I was asking about two boards is because I thought I had read a comment that someone’s lock switch on the door became inactive after project completion but they may have wired it to the door. I can’t remember for sure as I have been reading quite alot of information lol
Thankyou for the feedback!
