Unlocking phones with xNT?

I started using the NFC tools app on ios, can’t find an option to insert a password and I was wondering if it was possible to do without the proxmark 3 or access kit?

Last time i atempted this …4 years ago. Only a rooted android could be unlocked via a nfc scan. Befor this is was allowed.

Correct, a no for iOS, and most androids.

Neither of those would help either unfortunately

Although, perhaps a KBR1, at least on android…

I think you guys misunderstood what she’s asking. I think she’s asking about the password on the NFC chip not accessing her phone. Am I correct @eternalhoodie ? If yes, unfortunately I don’t use NFC tools on iOS so I don’t know where the password options are, but someone might know.

I can unlock my iPhone (or Android or Laptop or whatever) by using my Unloki… so basically if you use an external RFID/NFC reader which acts as a HID (Human Interface Device), then it transmits keystrokes over the USB cable.

oh ok so i need separate hardware? are there any sticker like chips that accomplish the same purpose?

Phones used to be able to be unlocked without an intermediary HID, but that functionality was removed a good number of years ago.

I believe it can still be done, but it requires rooting your phone.

If you are interested in making a simple integrated reader, I built a device into a phone cover a few years ago that allowed me to do this, but I changed phone not long after and didn’t bother to modify it into my new case.

I have a project thread I made, but it just shows the proof of concept, however i didnt document the improvements of the “final” version.

I might still have it in a drawer, But I feel like I repurposed the reader elsewhere.

EDIT:
In one of my project drawers, most of the parts still there

I have however had a chat with somebody far more clever than myself, and he may make an improved product out of this.
So, watch this space, but no timeline given…

Yeah, you have a bunch of options, your “best” bet is searching for
NTAG Sticker

NTAG213 or NTAG216 etc would be valid options

There is a app called: “smart pass lock NFC”

The app has several bugs. Sonetimes it fails and your phone is unlocked.
It can gappen after a restart of your ohibe, you xan’t unlock it with NFC.
It happens - glad that I set also a password.

To be clear, apps like this do not lock your phone, they simply put an annoying screen that tries to always stay on top of other apps. The primary difference here is that a truly locked phone is also locked from USB port access, NFC access, and other types of file system decryption when the phone is unlocked vs truly locked.

I use also the unloki in public to unlock my phone at home or in the brwak room at work i use the password.
In trains… it is much better to use the unloki.
