I have recently moved into a new apartment that has a RFID key system. This has gave me good reason to finally get an implant!
What I would really like is a T5577 implant with an blinky. As far as I can tell most implants that have RFID and NFC only light up at 13.56 MHz. I would quite like NFC too but it’s something that I wouldn’t mind getting another implant for down the road.
I’m thinking about getting a NExT V2 with a xLED next to it. Anyone have any experience with having 2 x-series in the same hand?
Either that or I get a dUG4T with a xLED. My main concern there is the range of the xLED.
Any tips or things I should take into consideration?
Hmm, let’s try something first. Download TagInfo from your app store of choice on your phone. Then turn on NFC on your phone and do a full scan on the card.
If if scans, show us the result and we can confirm what type of card it is (the UID is the only “sensitive” info there, you can black that out if you feel inclined)
If it does not scan, make sure the app is working. Scan a tap to pay credit card or some hotel key or something. Don’t show us that. If the app is working, but the apartment key is not scanning, it then would be time to consider a PM3.
Some HF cards cannot be cloned at all, so no reason to waste money on a PM3 in that case.
I love mine. LF side I use mine for my work badge, a lot of companies use LF systems for access control.
NFC side I store a bit of text because I mostly use the LED as a party trick. If you write a URL to it, the phone will pick it up and it will stop NFC. If you write text to it, you can still read it by using an app like NFC Tools but when showing off the LED it will blink continuously.
