The dopamine ran out of tiktok when we hit 2 million views. So onto the next one… let’s build a drone… from scratch.. from a kit. Including custom 3d printed parts and off the shelf bits.

This is a 2 inch apex 2 kit with some sort of flight controller. Little camera And a vtx and elrs transmitter in one. Its designed to go “neeeooowm”…

My first time building in something that flies… I always said I wouldnt as , if successful. Its only a material of time before I attach something simular to a skateboard… Anyway…

Im currently soldering the motors to flight controler… ill keep you posted. Do you think it will fly?

Hell yeh!! I. Now have someone to aske questions too. As always ive jumped in the deep end. With no prior experience… Hoping to work the problems out later. Ive spent about 15 hours in simulator… im getting there…

Been wanting to build one too. This is wicked to see. How much is it costing in bought parts, and is it FPV?

So heres a ruff break down. I went for the cheapest compatible parts.

Frame 5 quid

Motors 5 quid each

Props 3 quid.

Flight controler 40 quid

Elrs and vtx transmitter in one 20 quid.

Goggles 40 quid.

Controller 60 quid.

Batterys 2s 450s 5 quid each

So for about 2 bar… in hindsight I could of bort a tinywoop for the same price and save my self a week of building and programming.

Oh sure you could. But where’s the fun in that? And you wouldn’t have learned anything along the way.

That all might balloon a bit in AUD but sounds about right for what I guessed as a cost.

Yeh im about 20 hours in on sim. Quite excited about flying out side…
