Where are your xG3s?

Sorry to revive an old thread. I have decided to get one. As you have both versions, which do you prefer? Are you able to get any feel for electric fields with the v2?

I have the xg3v2 in my left hand ring fingertip. There’s a video of my self install in the installation thread. While I recommend against a fingertip install(the xg3 really is just too big for a fingertip) I have an intense amount of Sense that comes from it.

Thanks. I don’t think I would be brave enough to do the fingertip. I do a lot of typing for my work. I was thinking back of hand. Maybe P1.

Anyone else with any advice? It is Friday afternoon in Au, so I will do my best to hold off ordering until Sunday evening… though it is hard not to hit that checkout button immediately!

I’ve been considering a second in the same hand just not sure where. Maybe top of wrist or forearm. I use it almost daily just to keep track of small screws. I use that more than I do the sensing part and I originally only got it because I thought the sensing portion was interesting. I wasn’t aware of how useful it was actually going to be.

That is what I wanted to hear. Sending sounds cool but I doubt I would use it very much. Holding screws on the other hand (pun intended) is something I would use every weekend.

Yep I have both plus a Titan
Honestly the v2 is great for sensing, for me. Even beats out the titan at times.

The v2 is the best you are going to get nowadays (unless someone knows some a thing) and honestly it’s pretty damn good

Haha. Bugger Sunday. It’s still early in the USA, so it may even ship today!

It’ll ship in approximately 12 hours  it’s midnight here rn

Wow. I was only joking. I didn’t actually expect it to ship until next week. Thanks!!

Should send out a little metal button with that printed on it along with every magnet order  (or as an add-on for an extra couple bucks)

Bonus points of the button is magnetic.

You’d be surprised how much you’d use sensing. It’s less of a usage sort of thing and more of a “oh that’s a new thing that has a magnetic field” thing. Having a biomagnet opens up a whole new world you previously didn’t even know existed. My Titan is near daily showing me new things that have fields around them. I found 6 magnets in an iPad case yesterday and I wasn’t even looking for them.

You beat me to this. Yes.

Cool. I was thinking about deliberate searching and the safety factors which might come with that; eg whenever I wire in a new power point or light from an existing fixture, I am paranoid and use a power wand about 20 times to be sure it is safe (even after turning off the fuse). So I was thinking the magnet would help in that regard. I

didn’t even contemplate what you have suggested. Thanks!

Well the only time you’ll REALLY feel something from standard AC lines in your house is if there’s a high current device attached. I can sorta feel a low current device but that could just be placebo. However, I can clearly feel something like a microwave or fridge starting up. Most wires don’t give me any feeling really though. I’m sorry if that’s dissapointing but I don’t want your expectations to be crazy and then have you be dissapointed
