Thanks, @Pilgrimsmaster. As per your diagram, this is what I always thought. Though I found this image below which is a little more detailed.
I can only get reads and blink (from my xLED, xSIID is still not visible yet though readable, 7 days old) within/around the grey rectangle. I have confirmed this with my X Field Detector.
Thanks, unfortunately I still can’t update due to the 403 error is still happening ( Pretty sure it is backblaze issue )
Keep the updates coming, I’ll add them to the list s soon as I am able…
That same gray rectangle is what I’m seeing on the Fold3 as well. That’s the part of the phone where you normally hold it so it’s really inconvenient to use and it’s impossible to see the blinky on an xSIID.
The Samsung Fold 2 reads glassies pretty well. The best location I found is on the back about halfway down. I can get consistent reads towards the edge a bit, in between the top of the power button and bottom of the volume rocker
The Galaxy Fold 3 has been mentioned a few times, but it’s not on the list yet. It gets about the same performance as the Fold 2 with regards to glassies, if not slightly better. The location for getting the best reads is the same as on the Fold 2 as well:
NFC on a iPhone 13 will barely background read a card, reads a x-series with a NFC app open in read mode, and won’t background read x-series. Reader is on the top edge of the phone in the top left corner.
I got a OnePlus 9 Pro and the NFC performance has been pretty darn good. Better than the Note 20 Ultra. I can get my xSIID to even light (but not read) with a case on it! The blue mark is the best orientation and position I have found to scan my xSIID and NExT. The red mark is the second best location. With the blue mark, the LED isn’t sitting under the phone, so it’s easy to show people the blinky now compared to the Note 20 Ultra where I had to try and tilt the phone up a little to show the blinkie.
Edit: You can also scan the implant with the top edge of the phone as well like the iPhone. Seems to work best in the middle of the top edge if not slightly to the left (away from cameras).
