Curious about the drop testing

I know enough to know I don’t know enough

But you just have those taped on there correct?

Would the tape be “soft” enough to allow any meaningful bounce or reduction of force?

The chips were taped flush against the carrier of the drop tester - meaning they used to sustain the same Gs as the carrier. Now the tape is a bit loose, meaning they’re probably slapping against the metal even harder when the carrier comes crashing down.

They don’t seem to be bothered much though, which is hardly surprising considering how light they are.
