X-series implant rejection? removal healing time?

Hi hi,

I have an NExT implant in my right hand at R0, and it has been extremely useful, but when I went to an installer a few weeks ago to get a NExT v2 in my left hand, the installer said it looks like my V1 is at the beginning stages of rejection? I’ve had the V1 for nearly 2 years at this point, but it sits very close to the surface, so idk (picture attached for reference - it looks more blue-ish around the implant in-person, especially on the side closer to my wrist).

If it’s actually rejecting, I’d obviously get it removed (and then replace it with the V2), but I’m wondering how long it typically takes to heal enough to re-implant in the same location? I use this thing all the time

It won’t reject if it was installed properly. Does it always move with the skin, or can you move the skin over the implant.

Ideally, the implant should be separate from the skin and sit right under it.

It does look rather superficial, but I’ll let others chime in on that.

If it’s in the skin, the fascia shouldn’t have any scar tissue so you could get it reinstalled rather quickly. But I’d still let the skin heal for a few weeks out of caution.

good to know! I’d definitely give it a couple months to heal regardless, so it’s good to know it shouldn’t take super long. thanks!

both my implants move with the skin, but i can still move the skin a little bit relative to the implants; not a ton, but some

Thank you for all the info! It’s fully healed over (like I said, I’ve had it nearly 2 years) so maybe my skin is just a bit thinner/more translucent than average. The side of the implant that’s closer to the surface is the side furthest from point-of-entry, but it’s been closer to the surface for the entire time I’ve had it. I just figured I’d ask here, since my installer brought it up

I’m still probably going to replace it with a v2 at some point (I like having LEDs lol) but I’ll put that off until I’ve got my next couple implants installed and healed (likely a NExT v2 in L5 and R5  )
