xEM-AC (Access Controller), but HF? (Off the shelf)

Hello y’all,

Is there an official the shelf xEM-AC ( Access Controller) but that run HF?

… Or am I starting yet another project …

Thanks,
X

The xNT or xM1 might fall under that definition, but HF is like asking for a blue car vs a red car… what kind of car? Is it a truck or a car? Is it a school bus or a dump truck? There are so many other factors than just frequency to consider. What are you trying to do?

I get your point

Im not shooting for high security here … read a tag (ID would be enough) and flip a relay.
be able to read the ID of a mifare, ntag and apex would be amazing :yum:

Basically a simple to implement module that can read the tags we are already using for implants.
Seams like i may have to hack something together and code it from scratch …

Yeah an xNT of probably your cheapest option

wait, i think i missed something …
The idea is to have one of these, but that read HF chipset:

Ah… well I’m testing some options there actually… should be coming in for testing next week… but next week is the meetup in Texas though so I won’t be able to check them out until end of the month.

Happy to give some feedback if you’re looking for someone to try to break them

I thought that you were looking for a HF implant, not a simple access control module.

There are a few options out there but the quality and security varies a lot so I’ll recommend waiting for Amal to finish his testing.

Alternatively, ESP-RFID and ESP Home with Home Assistant support some HF readers. This will be harder to set up, but it’s available if you don’t want to wait.

For something basic you can find an HID Proxpro for pretty cheap and an RFID theif. You can could also use a Raspberry pie with the Wiegand library to setup a script to use it as an access control panel with gpio pinouts for door relays

Yea I found one of those a while back when I was looking for xac alternatives… the one I picked up only checks 2 bits tho which is kinda lame

Bytes?

Probably? Idk you helped me verify what it was checking… I’ll dig up the post in a bit

Me too!

Yeah it’s bytes… but I think it was like some half byte thing like 24bits were checked because this aligns with the dumbass weigand protocol

I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a chinise board out there that only checks 2 bits…

At least you don’t trust the not a lock

Could just be a rebranded master lock, there wouldn’t be much difference.
