I have both the next and xem. Ive recently removed my next (it will be reinstalled). It’s always been a bit harder to read and write to the next (with phone, proxmark, and flipper0) compared to the xem. I chalked it up to it’s placement and small antenna, but the poor performance (especially on LF) is still happening with the next on the table (and not in my hand). Is this expected with the next?
The performance of the NExT should be comparable to the one of the xEM. So this is kinda weird.
However, the NExT does have an additional ferrite rod so it might interact with certain readers differently.
I expected similar performance, but that next is really non responsive.
This would seem to indicate you’re having performance issues with both NFC and LF 125khz? Generally speaking the NExT should perform similarly to the xEM and xNT.
Can you post some high res photos of your NExT?
Nfc isnt as robust on the next as the xem, but 125khz is really weak. Ive attached some photos. Let me know if you need more, I left it at the installer’s shop so it will take a few days to get more.
Ok… just to clarify… the xEM is not NFC at all… the xEM is 125khz T5577. How are you testing 125khz operation?
Blah, not xem, xmagic… sorry about that, newborn sleep deprivation at work!
Ahh ok No problem. Congrats on the newborn… but yeah… that’s a lot of work haha.
So the xMagic is a 3mm diameter product and inside the ferrite antenna rods are slightly wider diameter and performance is slightly better. Still, the NExT should still perform just fine with the Flipper & Proxmark for 125khz. What kind of issues are you experiencing? Problem reading? Problem writing / updating?
Thanks! Both, it takes incredibly precise positioning to read or write the next compared to the xmagic. It will eventually read or write.
oh man… what is “it” in this scenario? I thought we were talking about your NExT?
Sleep whenever you can If you have the NExT with your installer, send it to us for analysis and we will send you a replacement? I will DM the shipping address.
I edited the post to be clearer. Definitely need that sleep lol. Is there anything I can test here for you first, in case im being an idiot.
Since you have two implants with nearly the same construction, particularly for the T5577 chip (the LF module in both xmagic and next are the same) then it seems to me perhaps the NExT T5577 module is underperforming.
Sounds good, then i can absolutely ship it back to you.
