XNT Password Questions

Had a quick question about the password on the xNT.
I haven’t touched the implant in awhile and when I was using NFC Tools to update the information I noticed that I had set a password with the DNFC app when I had initially installed it.

I’m still able to read and write data, so I’m trying to figure out:

  1. If there is a way to recover the password
  2. If there is a way to change the password
  3. If it really matters all that much

  1. No, not really. As far as I know anyways.
  2. Yes, but you need to know the current password, and it’s not currently easy cos of how most NFC apps are (lazily) written.
  3. IMHO not really. The DNFC app protects the tag from anyone accidentally or maliciously locking it. Without the password, the ‘user memory’ will stay R/W which is the best set-up for like 99% of use cases.
