This makes me want to bypass the door switch so that I can turn it on with the door open, and stick my hand in it with it on and see how hot it feels

Your body would absorb the microwaves and well cook your meat. The implant would likely be the coolest part of the hand. At least from my basic understanding of how they work.

Actually if it was something with further spaced metal that would arc (maybe a flex series tag but I’m not that sure), the hand would protect the tag from the microwave energy

Would it given the coil is small and a single piece essentially? I have only see arching between seperate pieces of metal.

I opened my microwave once and it didn’t shut off, I swear it made my eyeballs go wacky.
