I got my xSIID implanted about a month ago and the led lights up perfectly fine with hf tune
, the voltage is about 45V, but hf search
doesn’t find anything, hf 14a info
doesn’t output anything, and the same with hf mfu info
/hf mf info
.
I’ve got an iphone, it can make the led blink but NFC taginfo and NFC tools can’t read it.
Any suggestions on what to try?
Normally, it’s tge other way around, people can read the XSIID but not see the LED, which can often take from 4-6 weeks.
It takes more power / better coupling to read the chip than to light the LED.
So thats what I think is happening here.
So you have: iPhone, PM3
Do you have a booster board?
or
RSP for your iPhone?
is this how you are reading on your iPhone?
thanks for the reply, i’ve got a booster board on the way so fingers crossed that will help it. didn’t know about putting the top of the phone over it, just check if it works with that and no luck. no rsp sticker. i guess if nothing else i’d just wait for the pm3 booster to get here
FYI, on my iPhone (7? SE? It’s some cheap older/entry level) I can see the led, but never been able to read the xSIID … No problem on Android …
does the LED blink with the iPhone or is it on solid? If it’s solid it means the iPhone is engaged the field on full duty cycle and is trying to read the chip, but there might be other reasons the phone is not doing anything, like perhaps an unsupported ndef record type?
Are you trying to scan it nativly or with NFC tools?
It blinks but never read anything … All I got a URL I put on there with NFCtool using an android (reads perfectly on the android)
On the iphone, natively, maybe I need to try NFCtool …
Natively the polling on iPhone is low and dumb. Takes a lot to trigger it to fully poll. It’s like 10 short low one strong repeated. Apps like NFC tools forces it to scan long.
Also regular urls are hard for it to run. You need to format it differently from what I remember I’ll have to dig up my note on it
LifeProTip: lock the phone (black screen) hold top edge in place you wish to scan and tap to wake the screen, this starts the duty cycle. incredibly stupid but it works.
Yeah it’s not pulsing the tag detection hard enough to pick up the chip only barely power the LED. In short it’s a coupling issue.
