Hey there, after getting my xSIID implant my - until recently - undecided girlfriend was convinced that it is pretty damn cool and would like to get the NExT v2.
Now I am wondering though, since having a 125kHz rfid chip for myself as well would be neat, would it be enough to get the xEM to upgrade to the same feature set? Is there another chip that would be preferable to it to pair with the xSIID?
I’m not yet brave enough for a flex implant, so something injectable would be best.
Yeah an xEM will round out your capabilities akin to the NExT v2. But.. if I were considering your position I’d go for the xMagic. For the same jab, you get a 125khz T5577 but also a Magic Mifare chip!

Would you place them next to each other or further apart? The xSIID is at p0
If you go xEM then 5mm is really all that’s necessary between them. If you go xMagic then RF “interference” will only a roll since the xSIID and xMagic both have a 13.56mhz chip, so I’d put them far apart from each other.
I put interference in quotes because it’s not really interference but a limitation on applications being able to select one tag versus another if they are both in the field at the same time. The protocol has anti-collision features built in but no readers or application layer software really respects that and it will only care about the first tag that is read successfully. Putting these two chips too close together means you won’t be able to reliably tell which Chip is going to get read by the reader first. I would suggest putting them as far apart as you comfortably can.
As far as cost goes, I totally get that. But, getting stabbed is still not comfortable and can also be expensive depending on which professional you use. If you got to get stabbed, maximize the utility per stabbins

I decided to do the most responsible thing and get the girlfriend upgraded first and get myself the magic powers sometime in the future. Very happy, good for her.
