We have an extremely limited number of these that we can convert. In the spirit of the Titan’s bootstrap campaign, we are selling these at $1000/ea to help us fund a larger run. We will be adding a “Hall of Champions” alongside the “Hall of Titans” on the website to commemorate those that participate. This will be something we suspect we’ll use in the future so it will feature multiple campaigns as we chase next generation implants.
So, why should you care about the Apex 2? It’s based on the J3R452 but with a custom Fidesmo ROM. You get twice the persistent storage (but the same transient). There is also support for Curve25519. Another great thing is that it works with Klarna, unlike the OG Apex Ring Conversions. Personally, I’m stoked. I have long said that the Apex is a hard sell with so little storage. Now it has about as much as the flexSecure with all the ease of use and payment capabilities of an Apex Ring Conversion.
What about antenna choice? At this price point, it’s your choice. If you don’t have access to advanced installation services, the Narrow antenna is the way to go. Want some blink in your life? Go Spectrum. Looking for maximum ease of use, go with the Module.

Had the Apex 2 Champion edition been an option when I got my APEX (1), that would have been my choice…

If we can find chips, then the flexSecure 452 will happen. I committed some travesties to make make two which were installed at DC. But frankly the amount of labor that went into them is insane. But I also had the pleasure of installing one of them myself (not on myself, mind you).
Privacy.com offers payment privacy by giving you random credit card numbers for each vendor.
The thing that’s stopping Privacy from working is not anything to do with the chip type. It’s the same difficulty with everything - getting the issuer themselves to add Fidesmo as a token requester. This costs time and money to the issuer so there needs to be a clear business case for each issuer to make in order to request this change from Visa or mastercard.
As for the reason Klarna doesn’t work with the Jcop 4 Apex chips, that’s more of a technical issue and really a matter of will. I think technically it’s possible to make it work properly, but again it would require everybody involved to open that can of worms again and try to fix the problem. I’m going to see if I can make the value case for existing device owners, which is kind of the point Fidesmo was built on.
