(*****) "Blue square" Wiegand 125KHz reader

“Blue square” Wiegand 125KHz reader review

INTRODUCTION

This is a generic Wiegand reader that’s available under several brands but offers good low frequency performance.

CAPABILITY

It can reed 125KHz cards at about 6cm and glassies at about 2cm. The range is similar to that of the xACv2 but this is a nice waterproof unit. However, it’s just a reader and requires additional hardware.
Also, the buzzer is loud and the blue LED is not very discreet.

SUMMARY

Good reader for implant purposes, might require a piece of tape on the buzzer.

CONCLUSION

Well, it has a loud beep and a conspicuous blue LED but it’s a great reader otherwise. A piece of tape should make the buzzer more tolerable and the performance does not disappoint.
