Perfectly right.
This an acceptable place to ask for mixed drink recommendations?
I had limited time, and did what I could.
i didnāt get everywhere that i wanted (I never do), but I got some of the ātourist essentialsā done, but i prefer going to the off the beaten track and see the "real country.
I donāt recognize your last picture, but i went to Parque das Nacoes, and drive over Vasco de Gama Bridge.
I āgot lostā in the city streets of Lisbon and
I stopped off at a number of places on my journey.
Lotās of cool little villages, and really enjoyed Elvas (highly reccomended) absolutely stunning, the food was great, the people friendly, history interesting and views spectacular.
Off to Korea and āSomewhereā in Juneā¦
I think I can speak on behalf of @TSMC55
Same!
Although things change a lot when you are looking for a place with a better culture and you donāt have to worry about visas or residence permits. So Iāve been mostly trying to visit the residential areas instead of the tourist destinations.
One thing that I love about the Iberian peninsula is that clothing actually fits and is comfortable⦠Iāve struggled a lot with that in South America, but it shouldnāt be surprising when my genetics donāt match the average of the third world.
Additionally, the food is significantly better, and the produce is not a biohazard that contains more mold than French cheese. Besides, a lot of stuff is cheaper! Rent is more expensive thoā¦

So far, the only person who has looked at me judgingly was a woman with a hijab around her head⦠And by her facial expression, she wanted me dead. Provided, this was in Spain and I was talking with a friend. I suspect that she thought that we were a gay couple?
I really like that Europeans focus on their own lives instead of judging others. And I also like that no one has that facial expression of someone who is living through a great tragedy that is common in the third world. And yes, that facial expression is just as common in the very affluent parts of the third world.
So far, no one has looked at me funny which was common in Paraguay as Iām almost always wearing my bone conduction headphones⦠In many ways, I feel at home. While on the subject, when is Amal going to release an implantable Bluetooth audio solution? I want to get more chromeā¦
In any case, wish me luck drinking in the countries that Iām visiting next.
Good luck.
Is this trip the permanent move or just reconnaissance for later?
Reconnaissance for the time being. Moving to another country in a single flight is something that I wouldnāt recommend unless you are leaving during an emergency. And in that case, I recommend to leave ASAP before stuff that could prevent you from leaving gets passed into law
Absolutely.
My favourite mix is a large block of ice and add about five fingers of a decent Scotch whiskey.
Came to the capital of @Az_Fās country to run some some errandsā¦
In any case, what are you guys doing to your elders!? Most of them look bitter AF! Itās not even a neutral and emotionless facial expression, itās proper bitterness. ![]()
The absolute lack of the concept of personal space also surprised me, even if itās a big city during a time thatās not as peopley. Other surprises include big stores and supermarkets with a significant amount of empty shelves, that pharmacies have aisles dedicated to stuff for insomnia, and that restaurants function on island time. Overall, it feels like a very stressful city to live in.
Although more than anything, it took a while to acclimate at first. But Iām more comfortable now. Provided, Axel probably has better recommendations for places to live in France.
Oh god, donāt go to Paris
itās basically Mordor but for Europe. Enjoy the architecture but donāt speak to anyone.
Uh oh, youāve stayed too long, get out of there right now!
Yeah, just go anywhere outside of big cities and people are adorable. Iām currently in Pau and itās very nice and safe to live in. People here are friendly and really into sports and outdoor activities. Itās a lively town with everything one might need but not big enough to feel unsafe or inhumane.
Best advice on the planet!

I didnāt come to meet people or look at the architecture⦠Iām getting out soon⦠And yes, the people are very different from every other French person Iāve met! Getting a connecting flight was easy and I wanted to stop by to ask about some programs that are available in France. Some French websites are a mess made by people who are still resentful that the Internet surpassed the Minitel. ![]()
Canāt wait!

Also, Iām definitely not returningā¦
Iām not uncomfortable enough to rebook a flight, but thatās because I figured out how to avoid peopleā¦
Why do people from all over the world think that this city is the greatest thing on earth? Itās the worst of Bogota and New York put together but built before the invention of the elevator⦠And remodeled by Napoleon, again, before the invention of the elevatorā¦
On a side note, donāt go to Colombia, and if you do, donāt go to Bogota⦠That country has copied a lot from Paris, and the capital is was worse than the rest.
