If it had stayed like that, I would have been fine with it, but it turned really matte after curing.
If you wanted to do another I’d happily buy one
Sure, I can print and paint another shell and buttons. I’ll send you a message when I get around to it, probably in the next few weeks.
Might have been the resin formulation itself, but it may also have been the composition of your wash station liquid. If you want really clean prints it can be worth using clean liquid and even upping the concentration of iso propyl. It can damage the surface structurally, but makes certain resins really shine
Id be happy to have it right out of the wash and cure, no paint.
I just did some more playing with clear resin recently, and had much better results doing the following process
Print,
30 second wash,
Remove from plate,
Remove supports,
Reapply small amount of resin to surface with a paintbrush,
Allow it flow spread and settle,
Cure 2-3 minutes
Unfortunately my elegoo clear is well known for yellowing, but it still came out pretty clear and didn’t frost this time
I need to spend some more and buy the better stuff that doesn’t yellow
Hey @Pilgrimsmaster, I know this is an old post, but I got one of your RGB mods a while ago and there is a weird issue I get: the rgb stops responding after a while. If it happens while the backlight is on, it just stays on forever. Same if it happens while it’s off. If it’s on rainbow mode, the color stops changing. At that point, I can’t change anything - not the color, brightness, not even turning it off/on. The only thing that brings it back to normal is a hard reset.
I am using the latest stable Momentum FW. Did anyone encounter this issue before?
Hey Eur0Tr0n. Its actually me that makes these boards.
This is actually the first i have heard of this issue. You could look at your solder joints and make sure that you dont have a stray wire grounding out anywhere. To me it sounds like the flipper is in a panic state and freezing which is causing the led to freeze.
What do you mean by “panic state”? I am not very good at hardware.
To clarify - this happens after quite a while - hours. And after it happens, the flipper keeps working just as usual - except for the backlight being unresponsive.
I figured a stray connection would affect something else and not manifest so late?
Hi i got the flipper zero last week and got the RGB mod board. How do I know if my flipper will require 2 wires or 2 wires? I read a lot regarding the rgb mod but im not understanding why some use 2 wires and some use 3 wires. Is there a specific board in the flipper that needs to have 3 wires instead of 2?
as fas as I am aware (and I could be wrong) Its probably more to do with the RGB board.
Did you get a @Hamspiced RGB board? or from somwhere else?
Once you open your flipper up, if you take photos (I’ll upgrade your user level so you can share) We can point you in the right direction
A majority of the flippers out there will only require the two wires. I’ve only ever encountered needing to run a separate 3v3 wire twice and I’ve sold nearly 600 boards.
So I would say it’s safe to just run ground and vibro. You may need to notch out some plastic on your reflector for the mod to sit flush and you dont rip a capacitor off the board. Ensure you have custom firmware and that the RGB mod is turned on. It should just work.
