Flipper Zero not reading T5577

Hey everyone,

I got my first implant today! It was the NExT. I KNOW that for the first few days or weeks the chip won’t read well due to swelling but NFC works fine. I can also read the EM4100 (read only) but not the T5577 (rewritable). What gives?

you’re mistaken.

the em4100 is the T5577, emulating an em4100.

the flipper cannot identify t5577s directly due to the inability to bidirectionally communicate fast enough to explicitly state it has found a T5577, rather confirming its existence based on whether or not a write operation worked.

TLDR; the flipper isn’t able to explicitly say “here is a t5577”… yet

picking up the pre-encoded em4100 is the flipper picking up the LF T5577 in your implant.

if you try to write another LF RFID chip to your implant with the flipper you should get a success message, and then re-reading your implant will show the em4100 is no longer there but is now replaced with whatever you just chose to write to the t5577

ah yes, i see the page for the NExT writes “T5577 125kHz RFID chip (preprogrammed EM41xx 40 bit ID)”.

i tried to write to it but nothing. so, the flipper can read the T5577 but it doesn’t write.

likely due to the very recent implanting.

advice is to give it at least 1-2weeks to heal before trying to write

as for the flipper, make sure you do not have the silicone case on the flipper and when trying to write, slowly move the back middle over the implant

seconded :raised_hand:
i know it will be tough, but trust us random internet people.

You could also try to read, then when it reads, remain still, then write.

As you are new to all this, I would reccomend you grab yourself a RSP, put one on your flipper and one on your phone.

They REALLY help with reading and writing to HF chips

Welcome to the club!

They absolutely make a huge difference. Though important to note for new comers that unfortunately there is not a low frequency equivalent

yeahh,… waiting is the worst part

@tac0s Been a while since I bought an implant, but is this disclaimer included anywhere with the implant when it’s shipped? Might be worth having a bright orange business card with that warning and a qr code to the forum included with each purchase

Edit: Happy to fine tune it if ya’ll have some better phrasing or other ideas.

Great minds and what not

It looms like the orange sticker just says the contents are sterile, and the bag just says you can’t scan the implant while its in the syringe. Is there anywhere in the packaging that explicitly states to wait a few weeks before scanning?

Not at the moment. This has cut down on those posts dramatically. Rather than turn it into a smattering of stickers covering the whole thing, I’m more inclined to do a “watch this first” video link. Try and keep it <2 minutes. But if we all think more stickers is the better approach… Happy to give it a go.

I think asking the customer to scan a qr code and watch a video is a bit of an ask compared to reading a quick statement, but I agree the video will be more informative

It makes sense, however, the more we put on there, the more likely a message is to get lost in the noise. My rationale was, “I can get away with one more for sure, but this is a slippery slope.”

We’ll let it marinate for the weekend and I’ll circle back Monday.

Completely agree. There’s not an easy answer
