My mom thinks nothing at all of implants, but still can’t get over my living barefoot after 20 years. She’s terribly concerned about how I look - or rather, she’s afraid of being embarrased next to me. She’s perfectly okay with implants because they’re invisible.
When I left home to go to the piercer’s to get my doNExT implanted the other day, I told her it’d be a 1 1/2" scalpel incision, some brutal underskin diddling and a bunch of stitches. She said “Meh… sure, whatever. You’re an adult, you do what you want. But don’t you get tempted none at that seedy parlor of yours and come back with a tattoo or a ring in your nose like a cow!” She said that to me, with graying hair, a lifestyle about as exciting as a geography teacher’s, and absolutely no interest in tattoos or piercings. But I “might get tempted” ![]()
Moms will be moms. Good thing she doesn’t know about prince Alberts…
