Looking to copy my apartment key fob mifare classic

Hi, im new to this and was wondering if it is possible to copy my apartment key fob? The fob is encrypted with Mifare Classic 1K at 13.560 MHz according to my XIXEI X7. Please any help will be appreciated and help me save $150 for a new fob from my apartment complex

Can you scan with taginfo and share the full scan xml or txt file it generates here?

I tried with my iphone and you are correct it does not read it. I don’t have an android phone, is there anything else i can do? This is what my XIXEI X7 displays when I read the fob. https://ibb.co/DfWMvKPm

Any help is appreciated

Based on the information you’ve given so far, I will say it should be possible to clone this to a magic mifare 1k chip. Get a card pack and a proxmark3 to do the cloning with

I noticed you said to get a card pack, but is it possible to clone my apartment fob to another fob? Everyone here uses a fob and if i use a card i suspect being caught by administration

If it were me, I’d purchase some gen2 Magic Mifare 1k fobs on amazon/ebay. You can get a 10 pack for close to $1 per fob, and probably even match the color the complex uses. Then find a friend with an Android phone to download Mifare Classic Tools. Clone, done. Just make sure they’re gen2 or you can’t clone them with a phone using MCT.

This is an update to what i have accomplished so far with XIXEI X7. When i bought the XIXEI X7 it brought some fobs on the 125 khz frequency and 13.56 mhz. I read my original apartment fob and copied it onto the amazon bought fob. Luckily the fob is a mifare 1k 13.56mhz. After copying the fob I tested it on my apartment door and it did not work, but I also tested it on the elevator and it does work. So it partially works not fully because it has encrypted sectors that XIXEI X7 was unable to decode. I just need that one step so that it can open my apartment door

Yeah so it sounds like you cloned the UID only, and the elevator only checks UID, but your door is looking for the keys too. I’m unfamiliar with the XIXEI X7 and don’t know if it’s able to clone more than just the UID. Android MCT, Flipper Zero, or PM3 should be able to do that. Again, your best bet would be get access to an Android phone and try cloning the entire fob with MCT.

That is the best free and simple option.
Unfortunately MCT can’t sniff keys,
It checks the tag against a list of known “standard” keys (e.g., FFFFFFFFFFFF).
If the tag uses a custom or non-standard key, MCT cannot crack it.
You would have to manually provide the keys in a .keys file for MCT to read the data

With a Flipper Zero or PM3 you could sniff keys, which is something you might need to do.

If you can get access to a PM3 or Flipper we can talk you through how to do it.

Can you share a picture of your door lock, you MIGHT be able to enroll a new fob…

What would be better the flipper zero or the pm3? Anyways here is the picture of the lock front and back https://ibb.co/0jGWQQxV

The pm3 is arguably the “best” thing you can get, but understand it’s entirely an apples-to-oranges comparison with the flipper. Proxmark has got a steep learning curve. I encourage you to go to the pm3 link and watch the “getting started” video of amal installing the software and setting it up for the first time. It’s an entire virtual linux OS, and entirely command-line driven. If that looks like something you’re into, then dive right in. If it looks far too intimidating or more effort than you’re willing to put into this one-off project, then the far simpler flipper might be the better solution for you.

Honestly I wouldn’t go spending another $100-200 on anything until I’d first ruled out MCT, but that’s me.

Check out this thread

The first post is a PM3 emulator that @Aoxhwjfoavdlhsvfpzha built and shared with us, it will help you get familiar with the command line interface

The next few posts are the abridged version of how to setup and install the PM3 quickly and easily

The longer and very thorough version is here, which will give you a better understanding of not just what to do, but why you are doing it.

Update:

So, after receiving my proxmark3 and following the instructions to install it. I managed to read my key fob but have no clue on how to copy it. Here is the screenshot: https://ibb.co/Qv91jqFx

Do you have any Magic Mifare fobs to clone it to, yet?

Yes, I do. I managed to do some digging on the internet and was able to find the keys. Well, I believe I did… Here is what I managed to find https://ibb.co/CrKzKYk

With your current user level.so you should be able to share images easily…

I edited your posts to include the image so people don’t need to follow the links
