nEXT with smart door locks

Hi everyone! Hope you’re doing well.
I have a nEXT chip (version 1) that I implanted about 6 years ago. Until now, I’ve always used it with a smart lock I built myself using Arduino.

Now I’m moving to a new house and wanted something with a better finish. I tested a few Chinese smart locks, but they didn’t detect the chip.

While browsing the forum, I saw that Aqara models were supposedly compatible, so I got the U50. To my surprise, it doesn’t seem to recognize the 13.56 MHz frequency. Is that normal?
When I scan with an RFID reader, it detects the 125 KHz side but not the 13.56 MHz.

Can anyone confirm if the 13.56 MHz actually doesn’t work? Or suggest a reliable way to test the high-frequency side of the chip? I’m starting to worry it might be defective, or I’m just wasting time trying something that won’t work.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You might try the apps Tag Info or NFCTools on your phone

Is this listed on the compatibility list?

Yeah, apparently it’s not listed :frowning:
I believe the chips that probably work best for this kind of purpose are the “magic” ones, right?

The magic ones are usually ones that can have their ID programmed, which doesn’t matter in your case.

Flex models will have better range than X series. Typical issues with any battery powered door lock is it’s ability to sense the presence of the X series in the read field, wake up and do the read. The x series are so small it has trouble triggering the wakeup. Flex implants would typically work better, but it’s not guaranteed unless listed in the compatibility chart.\

I use the Veise VE017 Fingerprint Smart Door Lock Veise VE017 Fingerprint Smart Door Lock, App Control, 7-in-1 Keyless Entry, Auto Lock, Emergency Power Port, Electronic Touchscreen Keypad, Biometric Smart Locks for Front Door, Matte Black - Amazon.com with my xNT. It doesn’t work perfect, but it does work most of the time. Not sure why this is not on the compatibility list. I’ll post there.

Is making one with a better finish an option? https://forum.dangerousthings.com/t/smart-door-lock-system-with-nfc-implant-a-diy-project/25341/4?u=chimpofm

I found that locks that work with the app TTLock seem to work the best. This is the lock i got off amazon and it reads my nEXT v1 most of the time. I need to dig up my repeater and stick it on there and it should help out, but even without it, it usually doesnt take more than 3 passes to get it to open.
