All, I have several older chips. All tube style bioglass chips in the V between my thumb and finger. One has been there 10+ years. If you want them removed, do you schedule a doctor, or just have someone cut them out?
This post should help:
Which implant is it?
Any reason you are removing them?
Can we help you utilise them?
Do you have any questions about them?
Just making room for newer upgraded chips.
Xm1 - Doesn’t get most door readers I us (range)
xEM RFID Chip - only does half the doors at my DataCenter, so I still need a keycard (range)
NTAG 216 - I have an Apex Flex for NFC storage
xLED-HF - it’s in a bad spot - hard to use
Spark gen1 - only ever used it to login to forums.
I’m looking to replace these with as few chips as possible, but with increased range. The security chips I use, most of the doors need pretty big range.
Definitely need an Magic and a T5557 - Most of my usage outside of OTP is DataCenter and Hotel doors.
Please any suggestions (or education) for replacements and locations would greatly be appreciated.
You want range, then Flex implants are what you need
T5577 = FlexEM
Magic = FlexM1 (dont let the size fool you, I have the “prototype” of this one, so not exactly the same, but I believe its very similar…which is good.
HOWEVER
It seems like you are going for “less is more” in a minimalist kind of way, you might be better getting the
FlexUG4
It is basically the HF version of the T5577.
With a FlexEM, FlexUG4 and an ApexFlex, you pretty much have almost all HF & LF situations covered.
Why did you get it removed?
I suspect that the chip failed in some way.
Stopped working about a year ago. Need space for a new chip, so i need to remove it.
This is one of the only flex chips that failed I’ve ever seen which clearly shows the encapsulation failure. Moisture clearly entered and oxidized the metals inside. Thank you for sharing these photos, and sorry it failed in this way. The encapsulation process wasn’t fully fleshed out back then.
It works for many years I got it in March 2019.
I’ve got the Vivokey Apex now
For the FlexUG4 and the FlexEM where would you suggest placement as I am mainly using them for door access.
Take this for what it is, advice from an internet rando.
A popular sport is on the back of the hand, just above the wrist
but there are other options.

Personally, I would suggest P1-P4 They are all great positions for presenting to a reader.
If I had to pick one, I would steer more toward P4…or P3 just because of the wrist flexibility and ergonomics to interact with a reader.
Thats why I put my custom payment in P4.
Keep us updated
Good luck
