Wanted to share this. It shows that card issuing companies are becoming more okay with tap-to-pay devices that aren’t cards… so maybe EMV implants aren’t that far off?

Third time I’ve seen tap to pay magic wands come up. It’s fun but I don’t see how it moves the fundamentalist christian needle that payment companies are worried about.
Edited to add: I am assuming you mean legitimate, EMV certified payment implants–not conversions.

Looks like cashapp released this silly wand shaped payment device (they mention more designs to come) that links to your cashapp bank card. cash.app/press/tags
After spending 45 mins trying to get an answer from support, they transferred me to someone who told me the tag doesn’t expire as a traditional bank card would and that it can be linked to other cashapp cards in the event that the bank card closes/expires. Seems like a viable choice for payment implants.
I haven’t been keeping up with this forum so I don’t know where the community’s at with the best options for payment implants if anyone could update me?

It’s Fidesmo Pay based. They seem to be restricting the tokenization to just just their own hardware.

What is it about references with mark of a beast and christian fundamentalists, did I miss some roadblocks by religious folks?

Not at all.
We don’t give a fuck.
Some peole here have relegious family members to whom they may choose to hide it from, but generally speaking, nobody cares.

certified? .. probably.. but not directly. I don’t think the payment companies give a flying fuck about it.. but the risk management departments extrapolate that people who do care about it could raise enough of a stink that it affects stock price and market cap.. at least temporarily. Hence no payment network wants to touch it. There may be other reasons, like not understanding where the liability risks are and they might be scared of getting pulled into a lawsuit where little timmy tried to jab himself with an implant and poked out his eye or died or something.. but the reality is we never have gotten far enough along the process to talk to the right people to smooth things out.. it always just gets chopped in the balls from on high, no discussion.
The reason they don’t actually care about mark of the beast (pay with your head or hand) is this;
Literally the mark of the beast.. only there is no “mark”.. you are the mark.. as in you are the sucker… maybe the christians were right hahah!
Anyway.. if we ever had a shot at having a real actual conversation, then;
- the product would come from VivoKey not Dangerous Things
- it would be an injectable form factor
- it would require a medical doctor to install it
- the product would never ship directly to customers
The price to pay for legitimacy, but that’s the only way to ensure liability is managed across the board.

I have a family member who’s so religious he was banned from his church for harassing people with excessive zealotry. When I told him about my implant he said, “Oh, like for unlocking doors and things? That’s cool. Hey, want to see the stack of discount golf-cart batteries that I wired to an unlicensed solar array to fully power my home for a year until it got me in trouble with the electrical company?” and the topic of implants never came up again.
