Problem reading FlexUG4 [SOLVED] Move the lube packet!

It’s to lower the capacitive contribution to the impedance of the antenna, so that they can pump more power through it with less losses. It doesn’t matter for cards, which is the target of the proxmark.

Just for the sake of my own interest, if you have a RDV4, I am curious how it picks up this implant.

When it comes to the Gen4, it is a “smart chip” similar to an javacard where it handles all different tag emulation.
It needs more power, and normal sized Gen4 tags has a crap antenna to start with, but what it can deliver in terms of magic capabilities is just next level. (All gen4 versions is that good, there are two kinds. )

Hey IceMan, since we are talking coupling / power etc
are you aware of the recent work in the Dangeroust Things Community with the resonant repeaters?
Obviously they are of more interest to us with implants, but i’m sure there will be plenty of applications in the wider RFID community, including the RDV4 and stubborn readers.
Check out Dangerous things RSP and @Hamspiced ones I call Mutha Fucken Game Changers

They may be of interest to some of your Discord Dudes and Dudettes…

I am aware of it and I also got some repeaters sent to me.

Totally agree that its an interesting concept.

I put on in my flipper but I found it better if its some distance between reader and tag in the middle.

But it sure extends the reading range.

I sent him a few units a while back to get his thoughts on them.

Actually think he ended up getting a dud or customs was a bit rough on it

I don’t have one, just a Flipper, generic PM3 Easy, and ChameleonUltra. Spent all my extra monies on implants instead of better gear

I have rdv4 proxmark and implant and test card on the way. Expecting arrival by the end of next week. I will report back

I’m home now and my Flipper read my FlexUG4 on the first try and was able to set the standard config and wipe it with no problem. Now my phone recognizes it again. It must have been and issue with my PM3. My Flipper has a @Hamspiced MFGC v0.1 on it

@Iceman One my trip I was using a PM3 easy 512K with the latest Iceman firmware and one of @Hamspiced 's v3 flex MFGC 's. I also have an RDV4 running your firmware. I love the RDV4 and usually use it for everything but it has an even harder time reading the FlexUG4. I haven’t seen any improvement on the RDV4 with the MFGC or the RSP (although I haven’t gotten the RSP to make a difference on anything so far). But the MFGC works great on the PM3 Easy.

No worries,
maybe someone like @amal et al has access to one.

hm…

interesting, one of these days I would need to look into why the pm3 has such issues with reading HF implants.

I have everything needed for testing, but away for a month and travelling with my Easy not RD4.
I can do it when I get back, if somebody else hasnt done it before then.

my rdv4 picks up my implant fairly well, although i do have to take the case off.
i just plop it onto my arm right above the implant and it reads well enough not to bother me.
hf voltage drops from a baseline 45500 to 43500.

i do have some mfgcs. maybe i should stick one on the rdv4 case

It should help significantly. if you do stick one on post where you put it so i can update the WIki.

@pwntastic do you have a Hammy field detector? That will help you find the optimal spot.

yeah, its just down in my car so i’d have to grab it and that means putting pants on.

i havent had much use for my proxmark since i programmed my implant and only got the repeaters recently for a different purpose, so i hadnt thought about sticking a repeater on my proxmark until just now

How many great plans have been foiled by pants?

That’s why I usually don’t wear pants…

i used the field detector to find the brightest spot and then put a mfgc there (and nearly blinded myself in the process), but it actually just made it impossible to read my implant. i must be doing something wrong.

i did manage to find a perfect spot to read with the rdv4 case on though, so that was a win.

Did you put it on the rd4 or on the case?
