There are a couple of different versions of the PM3 Easy available 256kB and 512kB ( AVOID the 256kB, the smaller size is not future-proofed, you will have to give up some functionality)

A frequent pitfall of the Proxmark during setup is mismatched client / firmware, ensure these match or you WILL experience issues.

Summary:
Setup is not ideal for a beginner, however, there are many guides and people that can help you out.
Once set up, the use of the PM3 Easy is actually pretty easy, with the built-in help command line.
The Firmware is an active evolving and updating project, increasing capability.
It is a quite powerful and capable device
The PM3 Easy is almost as Capable as an RDV4 @ around 20% of the price
