QuickLock Door Lock, Padlock and xSLX review

Yeah based on this your lock is not working correctly.

Return for replacement from where you bought it?

Also have you set up Bluetooth by chance? Is there some kind of Bluetooth option, or possibly a security option setting via Bluetooth to explore?

Bought direct from their website, so figure support is first steps.

I did setup the bluetooth app, it is rather limited and feels kinda clunky
*this could be the phone I am using Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge - should soon be replaced with a One+ 8Pro (if they ever get em back in stock online).

You can unlock and lock it. then in the settings (gear) you can change the name of the lock, the timeout for autolock, the password (to something other than 12345678), view the logs. that would be it.

Move quickly friend. Your window for engaging your credit card company with a dispute is only 30 days (typically). Demand the lock be replaced. Call the number on your statement for the transaction (they should supply one), and ultimately issue a dispute if you hear nothing.

# Quicklock product changes and additions

Firstly

QuickLock appears to have been bought out by Lynkd.

https://lynkd.com/index.php/shop/

Secondly

This is NOT a review, hence not in the Review category

___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___

None of the new devices have been tested with implants HOWEVER It again appears the Tech remains to continue operating on RFID Frequency ISO15693 at 13.56Mhz

So if you are in the market for any of the below, you will require an xSLX or Original Vivokey Spark

There are also a couple of new products to the line-up, and a backend infrastructure system compatible with the newer products

Hello!

First off, hopefully I created this post correctly (this is my first comment)

I ordered an xSLX and one of the “new” QuickLocks from LynkD. Once I receive both, I’ll gladly do some testing and share the results.

My one concern was I didn’t know if LynkD would force you to buy their portal management software to use the QuickLock. Over the couple days of doing research, the old versions I found sold out. So onto the new one! Based on the manual I found on their website, it seems to utilize the old programming cards that you all mentioned above. I will share this also, once I can do some testing.

Update: Got some goodies over the past 24hrs!

I plan on installing my xSLX in 3 weeks, so I will do an official review once that starts healing/working.

1 thing so far… it only came with 1 RFID FOB, despite the Quick Start Guide saying in two different places that it should come with two. No big deal, cause hopefully it won’t matter in long run :smiling_imp:.

For my lock I found putting the Spark 1 in this orientation and running it up and down that direction gets a read every time.

Does this work with NeXT?

No only iso15693 chips unfortunately

Could you point me in the direction of where I can find NeXT compatible locks? Thank you

I am assuming you are meaning Padlocks, I dont think there are specif NExT NTAG216 Padlocks, but there are some ISO14443a compatiable ones.

That said
The other thing to note is that RFID padlocks are battery powered, so their duty cycle can be infrequent and not a lot of power output as to conserve the battery as they are designed to be operated by a fob or card.
The xSeries can struggle to communicate with low power devices

I actually haven’t been able to find them in my searches. Or, the ones I did, were either incompatible or someone in the forums said how bad they were.

This was the only padlock that I, personally, could find that would work with a DT Implant.

Hey @TheCyborgFirefighter

My name is Ryan Boswell, I’m the Director of Business Development with LynkD.

I stumbled across this forum and managed to find some conversation about the QuickLock and a few of our other products. First off, I’m amazed that anyone has even found our products haha. We’ve stayed small for the last few years as we try to iron out the direction we want to take our solutions. Seems like there’s been some incredible discussion on here about what you’d like to see improved.

I’d love to chat to hear a bit more about your thoughts/what an ideal BT Padlock would look like for. (We’ll make sure to send you a second RFID card haha!)

These products are all a little bit outdated and we’re working on a re-launch of our system, application, hardware stack and more. So new support will be available within the next few months.

If you want to get in touch, I’d love to chat and hear your thoughts. Same goes for anyone on here that’s maybe interested in learning a bit more, or that has questions/comments.

You can reach me at RBoswell@LynkD.com

Nice meeting you all!

Hello Ryan,

We are amazed that you are amazed..

Some companies aren’t as excited when they find out we are using one of their products, citing mainly ethics issues/personal issues pertaining to Biohacking. I don’t speak for everyone (and I’m not affiliated with DT in anyway - besides being a customer), but for me, personally, I’m just trying to have fun and improve my day-to-day life using technology.

I’m relatively new to the whole RFID world, so one of the other veterans might be able to better answer the future needs and wants. I’m currently at the point of, find a product I like, then find a compatible implant. This is how I stumbled across the QuickLock.

I do know we would like a highly secured lock. It seems the veteran members enjoy breaking and testing a bunch of products. Searching these forums and the web, you will see we found some implant-compatible locks, but they are either cheaply built, or easy to shim/crack into with simple tools. (Actually one of the first things I tried doing when receiving my QuickLock was try to “peel” the face, and I checked the charging port to see if there was any visible screws and such )

If other folks chime in, I’ll definitely reach out and share their ideas. I’d love to test any products for you, and see if they are compatible with DT implants. I currently have the NExT and xSLX implants, and will probably buy a xM1 in the coming days (just thinking of a location to put it ). Secretly still waiting on the VivoKey Apex Flex too… cough cough

Hi Ryan,

great intro and thanks for taking the time to come and visit us here.

As discussed we are interested in many things security-related, but our specific little niche is what can we use our implants with, One of the biggest holes in the market for us, are implant compatible Padlocks.

The LynkD ( QuickLock ) padlock being a notable exception… However, as good as it is, as it uses ISO15693 MOST of our implants are either in the Low Frequency or High Frequency ISO14443A.

I am lucky enough to have an ISO15693 implant, but many don’t.

I hope they are still available, I was hoping to pick up a QuickLock Padlock for review and my own purposes.
I will be sure to contact you when I have done so :+1:

Here is an example of the products we have tried and tested, and you will see that lack of padlock (Quality) in that space

Though we are a small group, we are a loyal group, if you can provide a reliable and compatible lock base, you will also gain a loyal customer base and we would be willing to put them through their paces.

We even have a review category #reviews where we test and recommend (or not ) products that individuals have found and tested.

I think a great step would be putting you in touch with our leader Amal Graafstra (@amal ) who is the owner / Director of Dangerous Things and Vivokey, he has many years in this field and a vast amount of knowledge in the RFID field.
He has at his disposal ALL the implants in one place, So if you were to send a sample of each of your products to him, he could test ( Or arrange testing by deseminating to the community ) I’m sure you will get some valuable feedback.

Amal will no doubt see this post, but he is currently flat out busy at the moment, moving Office and everything that goes with that…

Just some Crib Notes that Im sure you are already aware of:
Lock = Security, There are different levels, and the lock is only as strong as it’s weakest link :link:

  • Protect solenoids from Magnet Bypass
  • Protect Shackles from Shim attacks ( have tight Tolerances, Ball bearings )
  • Use secure Tech like DESFire, or less secure if required, But never use proprietary tech, what you gain in sales of fobs / cards etc you will loose in customers - we want to use our own cards, fobs, implants not what we are told we have to use.
  • For a padlock, as it is battery powered, either Low Power duty cycle with occasional HP pulse may be good, or a “Tap to wake” function

Any hints on what products we should expect to see?
Members here are always looking for Door locks, some of whom Rent and are after a universal lock, that they can install and remove with no damage or modifications to the door.

There are also a number of Gun Nuts, so gunsafes / locks etc would be of interest also

Gym Locker padlocks, secure enough to protect dirty underwear

Cupboard/ Cabinet / Draw locks

Anyway, Thanks again for saying Hi and I’m sure at some stage, we will be getting our hands on your new products and we will let you know how it goes.

And American Made :us::eagle:

(Ok, not a requirement, but would still be good in my eyes :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:)

As @pilgrimmaster is in NZ and many of our other compatriots are in Europe, place of manufacture is less of an issue (but quality is important).

Key based overrides (or indeed any overrides) just provide more avenues of attack and lower the security. Keep them simple.

Got 2 more implants installed today! (xSLX and the xM1).

Was able to connect the QuickLock to my phone via the LynkD App and Bluetooth. Super easily added the xSLX to my account using the app also. Surprised it read right away and I didn’t have to wait a week or two.

Staying at a casino tonight, and was also able to clone my hotel card to my xM1 using pm3. Unfortunately, swelling is to much for the door to read my arm. Fortunately, I had an extra MF card (I think it might have came with the xM1??? Not really sure where I got it), and I was able to clone that and it works fine with the door! :smiling_imp:

What is the easiest way to upload videos here? YouTube? I think they are both 8k, if that matters…
